A New Babe

A baby is on the way,
A little girl or boy;
Someone to brighten days,
And bring us lots of joy.

I'll soon be Great-Grandma,
With this special event;
This is such a blessing,
Our precious Lord has sent.

The wait will seem so long,
Until the day of birth;
But we'll pray all is well,
With this prize of great worth.

Thank you, Lord, for this child,
Be it girl or boy;
This baby will be loved,
By parents filled with joy.

And, Lord, from me a special thanks,
For this wonderful day;
When I learned of this gift,
I'm happier than I can say.
