A NEW YEAR

This year is ending badly,
The weather is cold and slick;
But even though I can't have my way,
With my Lord, I will stick.

2009 has been a year of struggle,
A year that's filled with pain;
But my Lord has held my hand,
And my mind He's kept sane.

My heart has been broken,
My patience stretched to the limit;
My soul has been troubled,
But my Lord is not timid.

He has poured out His grace on me,
Blessings have showered my life;
The road this year's been rough,
But Jesus sees me through the strife.

A new year now approaches,
And I'm ready for a change;
I know life will be better,
I'm sure God will arrange.

Celebrations will abound this week,
As 2010 we all see;
But what I want the most,
Is for my Lord to be with me.
