There are many places in my heart,
And each is filled with love;
I have a very special place for God,
Who sends me peace from above.

And then there's a place for my children,
Who have given me joy and pride;
They have grown into great adults,
Taking me along on the ride.

Of course grandchildren have a niche,
They have grown up oh so fast;
They have taught me many lessons,
Especially that youth won't last.

Great-grandchildren have carved a spot,
Their energy moves me on;
They keep me young and happy,
But I fear their childhood won't last long.

Friends and neighbors have their place,
They've shown me love in difficult days;
They bring me smiles and much joy,
And brighten my life with their ways.

The rest of my family takes up space,
But one thing I've learned from the start;
There will always be room for one more,
No matter how many move into my heart.
