The lights are on the house,
The wreath hangs on the door;
The Christmas tree is up,
Presents are stacked on the floor.

Cookies we have baked
Candles are ready to light;
Snowmen and Santas are everywhere,
Poinsettias are blooming bright.

Getting ready for Christmas,
Means getting out the gear;
But I have a favorite job,
I love to do each year.

On top of my china cabinet,
Out of reach of tiny hands;
Are the figures representing
People from other lands.

There's a shepherd tall and strong,
On his shoulders rests a lamb;
There's an angel of God
Worshiping the Perfect Lamb.

Mary and Joseph gaze lovingly
At the baby in the hay;
Three wise men traveled far,
Following a star night and day.

Yes, setting up the nativity
Helps me remember the reason;
For all the joy and happiness
We celebrate this season.
