Veterans
Stripes of red and white,
A field of blue with 50 stars;
I can fly this banner high,
Because our men went to war.

They fought for freedom,
They gave our country pride;
The cost they paid was high,
No, it wasn't a free ride.

So, if you see a veteran,
Let him know you care;
Give him a bit of thanks,
You know it's only fair.

Don't forget the women who served,
They gave their very best;
They did all that they could do,
Often with little rest.

I'll thank God for our vets,
Tonight before I sleep;
And for those we have lost,
I will quietly weep.
