This book is an excellent resource for primary grades. It is about a boy named Jeffrey who loves to watch TV, but when the TV broke, he discovers many other things to do. This is an excellent book to trigger discussion in a high school classroom, as well, especially in context to TV Turn-off Week in April.
by W.Carter Merbreier with Linda Capus Riley
This beautifully illustrated book goes behind-the-scenes to show how television is made and how the signal gets from the TV station to the TV set. Television:What's Behind What You See clearly explains such things as the magic of the chroma key and what goes on in newsrooms. Excellent for school libraries. Ideal for students from grade 2 to 6.

Ever wonder what could happen to someone who watches too much television. Box-Head Boy follows the fantastic adventures of a TV-crazed nine year-old named Denny, whose head suddenly goes inside "the box." While this is fun at first, Denny soon discovers the limitations of TV's world. A wonderful book to help kids break a to-much-TV habit. Ages 4-8.
