RAILIMAGES BY SCRAFFORD

Welcome to my railimages website. I have always been a railfan and I enjoy watching and photographing trains. I have just returned to the pacific northwest after 26 years in New Mexico. I grew up in Idaho and spent a lot of time fly fishing and watching the Milwaukee Road. Unfortunately the Milwaukee is not around anymore but I still enjoy watching and photographing trains. Because I spent so many years in New Mexico, I have a lot of Santa Fe and Southern Pacfic photos. I also enjoy photographing shortlines such as the St.Maries River Railroad. I'm in the process of building this site; so bear with me during the construction phase. I am trying to update some of the photos and also post better quality scans from my slides. If you are interested in any of my shots on 8 x 10's or if you want to comment on this site; please email me at e78milrd@g.com Thanks, I will try to get this site going in 2008.

Westbound SD75M 8273

Westbound freight at Abo New Mexico. This photo was taken through the cab window of a Dash9 headed eastbound. This is near the old station of Abo a few miles east of Abo canyon. This is double track territory.

SP Crossover at Marsh and Pantano, Arizona

This was a shot I had been trying to get for sometime, an eastbound coming up the hill at Marsh and a westbound crossing the Pantano bridge. I had followed this westbound (on the Pantano bridge)from Bowie and set up to shoot from the Marsh area. As the westbound merchandise train was crossing the bridge I could hear an Southern Pacific eastbound coming up the hill. Luckily I was able to get a few good photos of the 2 DASH 9'S curving through Marsh; with the westbound on the Pantano bridge.

ATSF GE #950 leads an eastbound through a rockcut

ATSF #950 GE C40-8W leads an easbound through a rock cut at the old rock quarry between bridges 1 and 2 at the mouth of Abo canyon. The eastbounds come hot and heavy here so please stay off of the bridges.......
