The
Montana Gunfighters Association is a group of Stunt/Actors who have banded
together under one name. Each member is really an independent contractor much
like other actors in the entertainment field. MGA is not a company or
corporation. MGA is an association with the prime interests of promotion of
Safety, Professionalism and Authenticity. MGA is in most ways a club with
exclusive membership going out to Professional Stunt/Actors.
Montana Gunfighters Association was formed in Billings, Montana in 1984 by J. V. Broadhurst. Membership then totaled only five. Today the numbers are growing and includes technicians, edit/specialists and many others that put together and present authentic believable shows.
Currently, MGA is expanding and trying to bring their western productions to all parts of the Dakotas, Montana, Wyoming and Canada. MGA is always on the lookout for new faces that can bring into the group fresh characterizations and ideas. MGA does not bar anyone from its ranks. MGA does not let religion, race, creed, sex or any other factor prohibit the opportunity to bring alive new talent and renew our Western Historical Traditions.
The next time you see a Stunt Fight chances are the people involved will be members of the MGA or members of an associate organization….The Stunt Actors Guild of America. Remember, gunfighters are fun and full of laughs at times, however; safety must remain in the minds of the performers or the performance may be their last.
