A healthy dose of skepticism has been injected into the traditional theory that Samuel's two wives were sisters. If they weren't sisters, so goes this newer skeptical version, then only the first wife, Agnes, would have been the daughter of William Keeney. Because this hangs on only a series of unlikely (although quite possible) errors, I still hold to the traditional view that Agnes and Mary were sisters.
She moved with her family in 1650 from Boston to New London, Connecticut, with the Cape Ann Company. Samuel Beebe was her neighbor.
