"I've been writing for as long as I can remember, pretty much since I've learned to read and make full sentences. I've always turned to the written word as my creative release, as my freedom from being what everyone in my "real world" wants me to be, expects me to be."

"I've been writing fanfic for ... damn... *thinks*... 3-4 years. I write off and on trying to really get my technique honed and ready for REALLY writing something thats derived from simply... my brain without the help of 5 fine ass men to put in my stories.... hehehe"

"Writing has made me look at my talents. I never knew I had writing talent until I decided that I'd just write out a fantasy of mine instead of just plain telling it to someone. I re-read it and realized... hey thats actually kinda good. So I've been kicking ever since."

"I started writing about a year and a half ago. At first I did it as a lark. But as I continued I found it was so much fun to see your fantasies come alive in print. It is a great way to an entertaining escape from the stress of the real world. And then when you post them and see other people enjoying them it makes it that much more fun! I love getting feedback from readers."

"I've been writing erotica for a little over five years now. I didn't venture into the world of fan fiction until late 1999, shortly after the music of the Backstreet Boys came into my life.

I find that writing, whether it is poetry, prose or fiction, is an amazing outlet for me. It allows me to outwardly express the beauty, emotion and sensuality of my soul.

I've been dabbling in fanfic for about a year and a half. When I was working away from home, I would write stories, about my real life and send them in letter form to family and friends to keep them up-to-date. It was always nerve-racking for me to keep them fresh, funny and accurate. I would always worry that I couldn't "TOP" my last one. But....somehow I always succeeded. I just hope my fiction stories brings happiness to those who read it.

Writing basically gives me a chance to bring happiness to others. To let them look at something and become completely involved in it. My main goal is to make the reader feel part of the story, like they are actually there and living it. Once this is achieved.......Only then, do I feel like I have succeeded.

How long I've been writing fan fiction: Apparently since I was about 12 years old. Only recently have I discovered that it is referred to as "fan fiction."

Writing fan fiction has allowed me to explore areas of my psyche that I was previously afraid to visit. It has provided an outlet for me when I'm frustrated, upset, depressed, and happy. I enjoy it when others read my writing and "see" what I "see". It's also a great way to...um...do things vicariously that I would *never* do in real life!!

Age: 39... feel 17... look 25...

Location: Smack in the middle of the East Coast... in the middle of North Carolina... in the middle of... Nowhere I really wanna be!

Profession: By day - hairstylist/color technician... by desire - musician/writer/vocalist... in my spare time - fan fic/slash author

I started reading fan fiction/slash about four years ago by accident. I stumbled onto a slash site dedicated to the characters on the Voyager TV show, and was immediately hooked. I didn't actually start writing the stuff until about a year ago, when I decided to try writing one about the Boys to see if I could do it. That little "short story" turned into nearly 400 printed pages of text... and I still haven't found the end of it yet! Anyway, late in 2001, at the encouragement of two of the writers on this site, I decided to let someone else read some of my stuff and... they liked it, much to my surprise!

Writing fan fic/slash allows me to flex my creative muscles in a way that songwriting, painting, and singing doesn't. It allows my all-too-healthy and active imagination a forum to express itself. That's a good thing, too... because in the long run, it helps me get all that energy out of the way, so I can focus on my music more...

"I've been writing fan fic for about a year now. But, I only started writing BSB fan fic a few months ago.

Writing allows me to take my dreams and bring them into reality....if only for a little while."
