1963-1964 1. Lig

Fenerbahçe Spor Kulübü - İstanbul

The league changed its name to Türkiye 1.Ligi (Turkish 1st League)
Fenerbahçe became the first club to reach the third championship.
While Galatasaray was winning the cup and earning a berth in next year's European Cup Winners' Cup, Göztepe GK İzmir would represent Turkey in the Fairs' Cup.
Three İstanbul clubs were relegated. Only one team was promoted from the newly established 2.League. The league played with 16 clubs next year.

The year was marked for the bribery allegations. TFF believed that the result was fixed before the at Karşıyaka - Kasımpaşa game and have changed the score of 4-0 as 0-3 for Karşıyaka and 0-4 for Kasımpaşa, finding Karşıyaka SK guilty in bribery accusations. This change lowered put Karşıyaka into the relegation zone and they were relegated. Karşıyaka opposed the TFF's decision and took the decision to a civil court called Danıştay.
Danıştay overturned the decision two years later and Karşıyaka was admitted to the league again during 1966-67 season.

1963-1964 Türkiye Kupası

Galatasaray SK İstanbul

Galatasaray SK won the second cup with an awarded score this time. The first game ended in a tie in İzmir. Because of some scheduling problems the date of the second leg and the World Championship tournament of the Military National teams coincided. Galatasaray had three players playing for the Military National Team - Talat Özkarslı, Uğur Köken, and Ayhan Elmastaşoğlu and requested a postponement. Altay reacted to this request and asked the second leg to be played as scheduled. TFF ruled a postponement. Altay didn't play the postponed game to protest and TFF awarded the second leg to Galatasaray and announced them as the Cup Winner.
