THE MIDWEST
St. Cloud, Minnesota (visited 3/03)
The Paramount Theatre is a refurbished art deco style hall.
This is a really cool place to perform.
Kewanee, Illinois (visited 11/02)
The Kewanee water tower
Kewanee is a typical midwest farming community that still retains some of its original wholesome small town vibe. I remember having a Sunday morning off here, and while wandering around the downtown area I found a really nice little restaurant that was serving a Mexican brunch which was fantastic.
It's good to see a community movie theatre that has survived. Our performance was at the local high school.
The Hog Capitol Kewanee has the distinction of being known as "hog capitol" of the world - although one local woman told me with a slight air of resignation "We ain't the hog capital no more - maybe back in the good ole days we was."
(somewhere in) Wisconsin (visited 10/02 ?)
A confluence of tall highway signage somewhere in the land of Cheeseheads.
