Psycohol Interview- October 2, 2002

conducted by Richard Head

RH: Now folks, yesterday I brought you an exclusive Interview with the one and only Wolfman X, EWA Legend! Today I am back, and I bring to you another Legend of the scene, WMX’s fellow Doctor of Extreme, the guy who runs this website… PSYCOHOL!!!

Psy: Thanks Dick!

RH: No prob… now Psycohol, if people know it or not, we are a team here… ya know, Psycohol and Richard Head, the co-runners of the PXW/EWA Backyard Wrestling Website… we’ve done tons together on this site, and it’s actually come quite a long way since we started it back in ’99… we’ve seen Natas’ websites come and go, and WMX’s lack updates, tell me why you are so dedicated to this site, and if there are more good things in store for the future…

Psy: Well Rich, I started this site back in June of ’99, because I knew that Backyard Wrestling was going to be a huge part of my life… so I wanted to document it as it happened, and provide as much information as possible about everything going on… I feel bad that I didn’t start it in time to cover the Golden Days of the PXW live, but I’ve gotten everything since… and even though we aren’t wrestling right now, there’s tons more things I can put up… as for the future… there are a few plans, including these Interviews I have you doing… but just wait and see…

RH: Ok, so about wresting… you have had about 4 months off, your biggest non-wrestling period since back before you started the PXW…

Psy: I know, it sucks…

RH: Do you feel rusty or out of shape?

Psy: Not at all, I am ready more than I ever have been to wrestle! I may need to get back in there and get the feeling a bit to get back into the full swinga things, but physically I am in better shape than ever… I’ve been lifting, gained a few pounds in muscle… I’m dying to wrestle again and test myself!

RH: Are there any plans to return to wrestling anytime soon?

Psy: Well I’m scheduled to fight Jevon sometime, but it may have to wait til Thanksgiving… and with Natas and them… I hope to hear from him, but it hasn’t happened…

RH: Alright Psycohol, your gimmick, you used to be just a crazy wildman with no gimmick, but now even though you still admit to sucking at mic skills, your gimmick seems to center around the fact that you are Straight-Edge, and even more so, that you are a Virgin… especially in the company of Natas and Drakon… can you elaborate…

Psy: Sure… as you said, I believe my Mic Skills lack, but that’s ok, my wrestling makes up for it… but as for the Straight-Edge Virgin thing… well… the Straight-Edge part, I just never got into or even tried to drink or smoke as I grew up, whereas all the other kids, and even friends were… I guess I just listened at school, I didn’t want to be like everyone else and succumb to that sh*t… I’m clean, healthy, and havin’ tons of fun without any of it, so why change something good?

RH: Good point…

Psy: And the Virgin thing… well, it’s just a known fact that Girls Hate Me! So what? I play Video Games, I like kiddy cartoons, I still get toys, I watch horror movies, I’m a Godzilla maniac, I just haven’t grown up at all… if that turns them off, so be it… I know to myself that I kick so much ass, and I don’t need anyone to tell me their worthless opinions!

RH: Like Natas and Drakon? They seem to think you’re gay or something because of this…

Psy: Exactly like them! They can say what they want, but they’re opinion is worth sh*t to me! They don’t know the first thing about really being awesome, in they’re drunken heavy-metal minds… the more you call everything gay, the more gay you truly are yourself, as in speaking of them… no offense to the gay community, hehe…

RH: Of course…

Psy: Hey, I’ve seen Drake and Natas touch tongues! What more proof do I need?

RH: Ok, onto a non-bashing subject… you recently retired from the EWA… so is that it? You will never wrestle with the EWA again?

Psy: Well… I figured it was going to continue… but it didn’t, so it looks like nobody will be wrestling there again…

RH: But what if somehow, someday a Reunion was put together?

Psy: I dunno, never say never…

RH: Now the fact of the matter is this, you have had more matches than all else, you’ve fought in more separate Leagues than the rest, you’ve held more World Titles than them all, and fought most everyone this area of New York has to offer… tell us about the places you’ve been and so on…

Psy: Well, obviously I started with that one match in the NWF… then I had a match in EWA1 a year later… and then started the PXW and have participated in that ever since when it’s around, and of course I joined the EWA2, and went all the way to the end in that Fed… and also a College-stint in BTVW, actually wrestling on Live TV for them… a campus station… and I’ve wrestled most everyone who’s made an impact around here!

RH: Are there any wrestlers you have not yet faced that you would like to?

Psy: Oh definitely… I’ve been pushing to have a match with Mad Dog/Gaybird for quite awhile now, every time I see him, I remind him I wanna fight! Others I wouldn’t mind… Assassin would be nice… I’d like to wrestle Ground Zero again definitely, and even Bonez again, since our match wasn’t really too fair…

RH: Anyone you glad you never wrestled?

Psy: Bumpkin! He’s huge! And rumor has it he smelled too… I always sort of feared that guy!

RH: Psyc, you use quite a High-Risk Aerial, mixed with Hardcore style… you invent moves often, and the other guys never know what’s gonna come next… do you think this helps you against all the guys using other styles?

Psy: Oh no doubt… like you said, they have no idea what I’m gonna do, and that unpredictability often leads to their downfall!

RH: Now I already asked this to Wolfman, but how did that 1st-ever Wrestling Match back in High School effect your career?

Psy: Well first off, it made me realize that I had this great gift to wrestle, and it wasn’t just something to throw away… that was one of my best matches ever, hands down… I learned a lot from that match and WMX… I may have never hit the backyard without that experience…

RH: A question a lot of us would like to know… why were you not in EWA1? You would have been great!

Psy: I know, I know! I hit myself several times a day, thinking back on how I missed what could have been the most fun of my life… well first off, I was attending College during a good portion of the Revolution… second, I didn’t know the guys very well… I knew WMX and Jevon, I sort of knew Ground Zero… I knew who Natas and Chainz were, but didn’t know them well… back at that time, I just felt uncomfortable thinking about going and wrestling with a bunch of guys I didn’t know too well, and I’ll admit it, I had this idea that they were maybe too Hardcore for me, hearing about GZ falling through burning tables wrapped in barbwire… I did make the one match, but it was a huge mistake to miss the rest of it! The family atmosphere they had was the best it ever had been so I hear, and if I could choose again, I’d have been there!

RH: But less than a year later, you along with Psykadelik started the PXW… you had that classic brawl in your backyard, which soon led to the great days of the PXW… how did this start?

Psy: Well, after my one show in EWA1, seeing how many guys they had there, having so much fun, I kind of wanted to create something like that myself… and I believe they were showing Mick Foley’s Backyard Wrestling tape on WWF a lot or something… so after a semester of college, myself and Psykadelik came up with the idea to at least have a match between us 2… so we did, and it was great! So the whole group of our friends wanted in on it… and we began having weekly shows! Like 8 weeks in a row or so I believe the original PXW went! I came home from College nearly every weekend! Some of my best backyard wrestling moments lie within this period… since then, as you know, the PXW has been extremely on-and-off, taking huge absences and stuff, but the shows are always still great!

RH: Can you compare the PXW with the EWA for a moment?

Psy: Sure… the EWA was all about being the best… about wrestling the best you can, doing huge moves, and no doubt great ongoing feuds… the PXW was more like a bunch of friends having fun… and no doubt, there was tons of skill, especially with a certain few of the wrestlers, but the matches usually turned out to be more like brawls than wrestling matches… more Hardcore rules applied in the PXW, the refs were always fighting with the wrestlers, it was chaos… and PXW had tons of classic and hilarious moments! The EWA too, but PXW’s were off-the-wall funny… but hey, this is coming from my own personal opinion, and since I began the PXW, it may be a bit biased… but the EWA, was no doubt the best “real” Backyard Federation in town… the guys knew more about what they were doing… both Feds were real good times, and different experiences…

RH: Very true, I agree… now the Doctors of Extreme… a great team! It sucks that Wolfman X is retired, but having him as a partner and Owner of the Fed had to be great near the end of the EWA, right?

Psy: Oh that was great! I was unbeatable… it was quite funny…

RH: You guys are still Docs for Life?

Psy: Oh yah! We’re still travelin’ and makin’ monster movies… we rule!

RH: And your own PXW Stable, the Cool Pac… how did that form?

Psy: Well it started back at like High School Football games the Fall before we started the PXW… myself, Psykadelik, and PsychoRuff claimed to be the Cool Pac, and we went and stopped all the bigger bully kids from picking on smaller kids… hehe, guess it was based on the WCW Wolfpac or something… I had no clue, Psykadelik came up with it…

RH: Speaking of Psykadelik, you recently rejoined the Cool Pac, and kicked him out… he was a long-time member, what’s up with that?

Psy: Well it’s been awhile since I was in, and I really wanted to be Cool Pac again… so I met with Psicon behind the scenes… struck a deal, and BAM, Psykadelik is now a former member!

RH: What about PsychoRuff?

Psy: Well we’ll just hafta see where he stands, if we see him again…

RH: So you’re the boss now in the Pac?

Psy: Yup! Nah, just kiddin’, no matter how it is in the yard, us 4 will always be the Cool Pac off-camera! There is no question!

RH: And speaking of teams you’re on… what about Natas?!

Psy: What about him?

RH: Well, the last time I checked the last WWF Show, you two seemed to have formed a friendship or something, beating down Drakon… you two as friends, impossible! Say it ain’t so!

Psy: Well, all I’ll say is… nothing’s impossible…

RH: Even with all the jokes he makes about you?

Psy: No comment, next subject…

RH: Alright, fine… now in the yard, you have sprained two ankles… and that takes you out for months…

Psy: Owww, don’t remind me!

RH: Do you ever think about toning down your style maybe, to lessen the likeliness of more similar injuries?

Psy: Oh not at all! If anything, I’m gonna tone up my style… there are many more moves I have yet to use that I am looking forward to… about the ankle, I do wear ankle braces most of the time now, to keep them from rolling more… and more to the point, the two previous ankle sprains have nothing to do with my high-flying style! The first was from receiving a Double Suplex, and accidentally catching my leg underneath myself on the fall… nothing to do with any moves I do… and the second was from a small little Leap Frog over WMX, and I landed awkwardly on one foot… and that was because of the way WMX made contact with me, throwing me off balance as he went under… not a high-risk move usually…

RH: I see… so the injuries were more from regular everyday moves gone bad?

Psy: Yah, basically…

RH: Now one more thing, before the speed round… what we all want to know about your future is that you seem to be the only wrestler from any of these Feds you’ve been in, to still be considering Wrestling School…

Psy: Oh yah… I told everyone I was going to do it back in High School, through College, and up to this date… why would I turn on my word! It’s only a matter of time before I get to wrestle in a ring instead of a yard…

RH: That would kick arse! You have any idea of where you are going and when?

Psy: Yes, the East Coast Professional Wrestling (ECPW) School in Lake Hiawatha New Jersey… seems quite affordable, and I visited… it’s in a nice town, the facilities look decent, and the people seem pretty nice… I can’t wait to go there… but about when I’ll go there… I just need to save up some more money so I can afford an apartment and start looking for a job there… and you know that I can’t even find a job right now! So without a job now, I can’t save up, just delaying my destined arrival there farther… so it could be a half a year, could be a year, could be more… the sooner the better!

RH: Yah, you have been having job trouble haven’t you?

Psy: Yup, I suck at getting jobs, no one ever calls me back, never get any interviews… it’s a hopeless cause, and I’m outta money that I seriously need for new video games and stuff! Damn all those employers!

RH: Well, on to the quick question portion of the interview…

Psy: Ok…

RH: Psyco, what would you call the biggest Feud in you career?

Psy: Well most would obviously point that out to be Wolfman X, since I have fought him more than anyone else in my career, excluding maybe the Ninja haha! We have had tons of great matches, and tons of great moves! It started waaaayyy back in High School and ended with EWA4… how could it not be my best feud? Well another one that rivals it is my feud with Psykadelik! It may not have been as long, since the PXW hasn’t had as many shows, but ever since the beginning, excluding the short Cool Pac period, we have been at each other’s throats, having had 3 draws out of like 7 matches! We will never see eye to eye, I’m sure! Those two are my biggest feuds!

RH: How about your best match?

Psy: Oh, why even ask? It’s obviously the 3 Fall Chenango County Match against Wolfman X at the final EWA4 Show… damn, I lost that one, how about that awesome Hardcore Cabin Match with Lumberjack… nah I lost that one too… ahh well, seemed to have lost all my best matches… I’d say it was the one with WMX for real though!

RH: A worst match?

Psy: Ummm…. That’s a tough one… Red Dog for BTVW was quite terrible… a lot of EWA2 stuff was quite heinous to watch… I can’t think of one in specific though…

RH: Do you have a favorite wrestler besides yourself?

Psy: Ummm, nope… haha just kiddin!

RH: Ok, be serious!

Psy: Shut up Head! Ok, let’s see… favorite wrestler besides myself? Well I could say Wolfman X, I could say Natas, I could say Jevon, or Lumberjack… but the fact of the matter is this… Mr. Execution is my favorite wrestler besides myself! He is so funny it’s not even funny! Wait, that doesn’t make sense… anyways, Execution is the man, and quite most-improved in my book! I think I’m gonna hafta copy that new Flipping Neckbreaker thing he does… at least once!

RH: How about a least-favorite wrestler?

Psy: Well… I would hafta say… Red Dog from BTVW… he was an avid fan of the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears, and InSync and all that crap! And he was serious too, I made fun of the Backstreet Boys once, and he confronted me face to face, in a threatening way, asking why and how could I ever make fun of them… I just laughed! I hate him with all my soul, truly! I hope he roasts in Natas’ pits of hell… no he doesn’t even come close to deserving to share the pits with Natas… Red Dog can go to Hell’s Sh*t Dumps!

RH: Wow, some spite there folks…

Psy: Oh yah!

RH: How about a funniest wrestler?

Psy: Mr. Execution by far! Splooge may come in at second, but Ex has got him easily topped… honorable mentions though include both Ninjas, the Janitor, and Psycometer for pure unadulterated comedy!

RH: How about your toughest opponent? Who gives you the toughest time?

Psy: Well Drixon Webb has always been very tough! I always get nervous before facing him… but WMX was also very tough no doubt… and another is Pitbull! Those three guys… you do not want to make angry!

RH: What is your favorite move, or maybe moves?

Psy: Well… my actual favorite moves are the fun ones, where I get to go spinny around like at a carnival… such as the Flying Legscissors, Hurricanrana, Tornado DDT, and of course my half-Backflip Splash… all great stuff!

RH: So if you had to choose… which was the best? EWA, PXW, BTVW, WWF?

Psy: Well, it’s definitely down between the EWA and PXW… tough to choose… for overall good times, the EWA since I was there much longer, and fought some of the best! But for best time with friends, and just tons of funs stuffed into a small frame, it’s the PXW… probably my equivalent of they’re EWA1…

RH: Do you have one favorite Show out of all the shows you’ve participated in?

Psy: Oh no… to many good ones, in PXW and EWA! I will say this though, the more people that showed up, the more fun the show was!

RH: And I was wondering, out of all the guys, who do you always root for when you’re watching them?

Psy: I’d say Psycometer! He is so hilarious, and quite underrated… and in my opinion should still be wrestling today… unfortunately he’s lost all interest in it… he had only had a select few matches, including one with myself, but I always liked the guy, and still hope for maybe a small return some day… gotta root for him!

RH: Anyone you specifically boo for?

Psy: The New Breed! They suck b*lls!!!

RH: But they’re broken up now, right?

Psy: Maaayyybe… and if so, then I guess I can’t boo anymore, haha!

RH: Now Psyc… let’s get to some name association… I’ll give you a name… you made a quick-witted response…

Psy: Ok dork…

RH: Ummm… Wolfman X

Psy: Most Powerful Ever

RH: Natas

Psy: Awesome Wrestler and Speaker

RH: Mr. Execution

Psy: Funniest Man I Know

RH: Psykadelik

Psy: Much Better Than You Think

RH: Lumberjack

Psy: Would Have Been Huge Success in EWA

RH: Ponch the Wonder Panda

Psy: Most Talented Wrestling Non-Wrestler

RH: Drakon

Psy: Best Athlete I’ve Ever Met

RH: HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Oooops… didn’t mean to….

Psy: Oh, sorry, my bad… I meant to say The Best When Motivated, haha…

RH: Sorry about that Drake… Psyc had his cue cards mixed up…

Psy: Yah, that’s it…

RH: Ok, last one… Pitbull

Psy: Best Wrestler I’ve Faced

RH: And just checking, but who are you rooting for to win the World Series?

Psy: Oh, the St. Louis Cardinals all the way! Hell’s Yah!!!

RH: Very nice… now before I let you go, one more subject to touch…

Psy: Alrighty…

RH: Psyco, what kind of Legacy do you think you’ll leave behind when you’re gone?

Psy: Well simple Dick… a Legacy in Brutality!

RH: Really…?

Psy: Well no, actually, that’s the name of a cool Misfits album… but really, I think I’ve left a huge denting mark in the Backyard Scene of this Generation here… not to be cocky, but I think I’m gonna leave behind a huge legacy, hard to be toppled… who rivals it? Wolfman X? Good point… but he’s retired, I am still ready to leave more marks on the road, and have left several since he retired already… Natas? Very legendary, but has taken extensive breaks, hasn’t nearly as many matches under his belt… anyone else come close? Not really…

RH: So are you saying that you are the best Norwich Backyard Wrestler ever?

Psy: Yes.

RH: What?! As simple as that?

Psy: Yes.

RH: You aren’t going to explain?

Psy: No. Why should I have to… history shows that I am the greatest… most World Title reigns, tied with most overall Title reigns, soon to be more… most Unified Titles, biggest variety of opponents faced… I am the Man!

RH: What about them Mic Skills, “The Man”?

Psy: Head, why don’t you just shove your stupid mic up your…!!!!

Psycohol gets up, grabs Richard Head, and throws him to the floor! He proceeds to grab the mic, turn Head onto his stomach, and shove the mic directly up Head’s arse, pants still on! Psyc walks out of the room and exits, leaving Head laying there with a wire hanging out of his arse! Psyc re-enters for a second to say goodbye…

Psy: Dick Head… Interview’s over!

Psyc exits, and Head rises to a half-sitting position, trying not to jam the mic any farther up where it shouldn’t be…

RH: Well folks, there you have it… an interview with our very own Psycohol… and unfortunately I cannot complain, or I will be out of a job… thanks a lot, and seeya next time!
