Tribe-to-Tribe Variances
I have found that the viewpoints, about the totems
each of us are born with, are basically the same
with all Indian tribes. However, there are some slight
variations in some of the specifics. As an example,
where members of some Tribes would say that the fish, Salmon,
is the totem for a particular aspect, a member of another
Tribe would say that it is the fish, Sturgeon. Those times
when I have run across variances, such as this, the way
I've handled it is that I find as much information as I can
about BOTH, study BOTH, then I just let my mind-and-heart
be my guide as to which applies to me. I find it
written, over and over again that our Spirit Guides and
Helpers do "guide" and "help" us, but that we are
often guilty of mistaking that for mere "coincidence" or "intuition."

We of Mother Earth
We are all aware now that it isn't just a possibility that
there is life on other Planets (and in other Universes), but that
there is the probability of it. The thing is, though,
that God, The Great Spirit, put us here on Mother Earth.
And He provided us with everything we need to live - and to do so happily,
and in peace, harmony, balance with every ONE and every THING here.

We Came From The Star Nation
and
To The Star Nation We Will Return
When we are born, our spirits enter our bodies from the
Pathway of the Blue Road of the Star Nation, and we enter
the circle of life, known as the Medicine Wheel.
As we travel through our lives, the Pathway we are then on
is called the Good Red Road. When we die, our bodies remain
here on Mother Earth, but our spirits return to the
Blue Road of the Star Nation.

The Moons and the Totems
As on my main page, I strongly encourage you to obtain some
books about the Medicine Wheel that are composed by trained,
Sacred Teachers on the subject. The books go into great detail
and offer deep explanations about the things I'll only be
high-lighting for you here. Remember, I am on a learning quest
myself, and I'm only sharing here a few things I've learned.
I am NOT a teacher. Don't forget that, ok?
The Moon, or month, when we are born is our starting place on
the Medicine Wheel. Different teachers call the Moons by different
names. But when we are born, and according to which Moon we were born
under, we are given totems from Mother Earth, which remain with us
our whole lives. Totems of specific animals, plants, minerals, colors,
elements (fire, water, air, earth), wind directions, more. We share
our basic characteristics with the basic characteristics of these totems,
and we can learn everything about ourselves by studying them.
For example, I was born on August 19th.
From July 23 through August 22, the totems are as follows:
Power Direction = South
Moon = Ripe Berries or Ripening Time
Animal = Sturgeon or Salmon
Plant = Raspberry
Minerals = Garnet and Iron, or Carnelian
Spirit Keeper = Shawnodese
Color = Red
Element = Fire
Clan = Thunderbird or Hawk
There are more.
There is a set of totems for each of the 12 Moons.
Although we are born with a particular set that we carry with us our
wholes lives, still, in order to experience life completely, we are
to experience ALL of the totems as we travel the Good Red Road.
It's sort of the same concept, if you will, as "walking in somebody else's
shoes (moccasins)." If we aren't moving all the way around the Wheel,
then we are not experiencing everything that the Great Spirit wants us
to experience, and aren't keeping in harmony and balance with everyone
and everything on Mother Earth. But our starting place must be
within ourselves. GET SOME BOOKS!
