Afterglow Afterglow - Nick Nolte

Alan Rudolph's slow, witty and intelligent comedy Afterglow is one of the better testament about falling out of love and back. Julie Christie (Oscar Nomination) gives a moving performance as a washed-up actress looking back at her heydays and wondering where it all went. Nick Nolte playing her philandering husband certainly displays his devilish charm that makes him irresistible. But perhaps one of the most understated roles is that of Lara Flynn Boyle. She plays the dissatisfied housewife looking for a little sexual excitement that her husband (Johnny Miller) has failed to give her. For anybody who is in the mood for something romantic, they should really see this film.

About a Boy Hugh Grant  Widescreen Edition

Will (Hugh Grant), a 38 years old slacker, lives in London with the income from the copyright of a corny Christmas song his dad wrote years ago. It takes a young boy (Nicholas Hoult) to teach him to face the realties of life and that gaining complications helps us grow and expand as individuals. From Nick Hornby's novel.

Animal House

The definative textbook for any self-respecting student who plans to major in debauchery at college (or in life, for that matter), John Landis' nearly-mythic Animal House created the blueprint for bad behavior exhibited in countless teen comedies that have followed, and signaled the rise of National Lampoon empire. The scant plot - Faber College's Dean Wormer (John Vernon) encouraging an ongoing rivalry between two fraternities (the recklessly ragtag Deltas vs. the snotty, superior Omegas) to get the Deltas kicked off of campus - serves only as a sort of comedic Trojan Horse, from which every kind of prankish mayhem emerges. Otter (Tim Matheson) and Boon (Peter Riegert) and are the smooth, sly leaders of the Delta house, wooing women, initiating new pledges and brushing off feeble attacks by the Deltas with the greatest of ease - a sort of Hawkeye and Trapper John for the university set. Teamed with the big-hearted brawn of seventh-year student Bluto (the breathtakingly funny John Belushi), Boon and Otter organize the multi-talented Deltas, including pledges Pinto (Stephen Furst) and Flounder (Tom Hulce), to regularly challenge the Dean and his accomplices with tomfoolery (the horse in the Dean's office and the food fight pop to mind) that should make today's reality TV shows green with envy. When the Dean finally stumbles onto a plan that signals the end of the Delta house, Bluto somehow musters a heartfelt-but-hysterical Patton-esque speech that rallies his fraternity brothers to concoct the king of capers as a not-so-fond farewell to their college days. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the brief screen debuts of then-unknown actor Kevin Bacon and musician Robert Cray, and stick around for the credits to see how the lives of the major characters panned out in the world after school.
