The Sensations Marching Unit is a proud member of
Tournament of Bands/Tournament Indoor Association.
In August 1994 a marching squad was formed with six
majorettes. Known as the Show Stoppers, the small unit
performed at local parades. Renamed in 1995, the Sensations
Marching Unit grew over the next two years and performed
with competitive and non-competitive
baton, pom pon and color guard divisions. Flag and
drum lines were added during the third season and a
competitive drill team in the fourth. In December 1997
the Sensations Marching Unit became a non-profit
organization. A surge in growth doubled the unit in 1998 and it quickly grew to a membership of 102. The group competed in DisneyWorld, Florida at the Twirlmania competition in 2000 and again in 2007. The Sensations expanded in 2001 with an indoor competitive twirling team and joined the Tournament of Bands circuit to compete in winterguard competitions. In 2002, a competitive indoor dance team was added and as of today, the Sensations indoor teams consist of two majorette teams, a dance team and percussion team. Additionally, the organization continues to participate in the local parades and events. Numerous outdoor and indoor national level awards and titles have been achieved by the Sensations, as well as individual titles, scholarships and awards.
