Chapter Ten “Alright, come one.” He brought her out to the car and ran back inside to get her hospital bag. “Buckle up and get ready.” He said, putting the car into drive and peeling out of the driveway.

They arrived at the hospital and found out she was 4 centimeters.

Chris went and called everyone telling them what was going on and Andrea’s progress.

Soon, all the guys plus Whitney and Cait were there.

Whitney and JC stood outside the door in the hallway, all they could hear was the screaming pains from Andrea.

“Why?” JC heard a weak voice ask from across the hall. He looked up to see Whitney staring at him.

“Not now, Whit, come on…” JC whined.

“Yes, now.” She declared. “I need to know for my own sake, god JC, I thought you were it, but you crashed those thoughts pretty quick, ha?” She said.

Her words felt like a quick jab at his heart. He was still holding out hope.

“Whitney, I loved you with all my heart and it took a lot for me to get over it too and I tried my hardest I thought it worked too, then I get back and see you and all those feelings, for some reason, I thought I had left behind, came back, an I don’t like it at all.” He told her. “Knowing I have these feelings in my heart but not being able to express them hurts me, Whit, I still love you, no matter what I can’t deny it.”

She stood there. Shock took over her body. What was she supposed to say to that? He had just spilled his heart and all she could do was stand there in shock. “Sorry.” Was all that managed to come out.

His eyes adverted to her. She had just said sorry. Why? He had thought it as his fault this entire time, what was going on that now she was blaming herself? “whit, can we just go talk about this? It’s all confusing now. I think we’ve both changed in the time we’ve been apart and that we need to get some things cleared up.”

“Alright fine, but can it wait until after she has this baby? It could be any minute now according to the doctors.”

“Alright why don’t we go in there now?”

“Alright, and JC…”

“Yeah?”

“Thanks”

“Alright, you’re complete and ready to push, ya set?” The doctor asked Andi as he put on a gown.

”More than, just get this baby out!” She told him.

“Ok, ready, deep breath and PUSH!” Andi gave it her all bearing down with all her might.

“You’re doing so good, baby, keep going, come on.” Chris tried to encourage her. “And one more…” The doctor said as She took in another breath, pushing again. “And stop, stop pushing.” The doctor said. “Give me a tiny push and your baby will be here, tiny.” He urged. Soon they heard the sound of a beautiful baby crying. Everyone else as well.

Things were complete now. There was love and a family to spread that love to, could things get any better?

“Ride home?” JC asked Whitney.

“Sure.” She smiled at him. “On one condition...”

“What is that?” He looked at her questioningly.

“We finish out conversation from earlier,” She told him.

“You got it, now come in, it’s late and I want to get to home.” He told her.

“Alright, JC where do we go?”

“Left,” he answered with a laugh.

“Well, aren’t you a comedian, you know what I mean, you and me, where do we go?”

He sighed, he had been long thinking about this question. “We start over. There’s nothing else to do. Clean slate, score’s even.”

“And you’re assuming I want to start over?”

“No, that was the next part if you had let me finish.”

“Well, I’ll tell you what, JC,” Whit started. “This is what it looks like form my point of view, you lied, how can I trust you? It’ll certainly take me a while to be able to, you need to now realize this and be sensitive about it, you’re going t have to be more careful about what you do now, Jace, and how you react to come-on’s by other girls.” She let him know.

“I know Whitney, I'm nervous about this but I need you back in my life, I do.” He let her know.

She smiled. She had waited to hear those words for months. “JC,”

“Yeah?”

“I still love you, with heart and soul, it never went away, that flame is still burning bright, and I get this feeling it will take a while for it to even dim.”

“Well, I’ll tell you what, Friday night, you and me have a date. Now before you say anything, it’s a surprise, so be ready by oh, sevenish, and dress casual, that’s all you’re getting.”

“Alright, well, thanks you JC for the ride home, for everything.” Whitney told him before disappearing into her house.

“He’s so beautiful,” Andrea gushed as she stared into the eyes of their new baby boy, Sean Daniel.

“I can’t believe he’s finally here, it seemed like forever.” Chris said.

“I know, but now he’s here for us to love and hold.”

Soon, the nurse came to bring Sean back to the nursery and Chris had to leave for the night.

Andrea was more content than she had ever been in her life. At first when she found out she as pregnant, she wasn’t sure how things were going to end up, but now she realized that there was nothing she wanted more tat this moment than her fiancé and her son. Her life was complete now. She couldn’t wait for the wedding she had always wanted to the only man she could ever want.

“You ready to be swept off your feet?” JC asked Whitney as he watched her walk down the stairs into the foyer where he stood.

“More than,” she answered.

The whole day Whitney’s nerves had been jumping around. Worrying over what he was planning for the night, worrying over how things were going to go. Would everything be smooth sailing or would t all sink to the bottom?

Soon those questions would be answered.

They could both feel the tension in the air as they drove in the car. There wasn’t much talking going on. Though they hadn’t talked in months neither knew where to start. Should things be just like normal? Like nothing had ever happened? They were starting over after all….

“So…” she said, trying to break the barrier that seemed to have been built between the two.

“So…” he repeated, not knowing what exactly to say. He doubted that she wanted to hear about all the things that happened while they were away and all the girls that had chased him to his hotel. Why would she? Even he didn’t want to hear those things.

“How’s the album coming?” She asked.

“Pretty good, we got a few production things to do but it’s pretty much done thankfully,” he answered, thankful it wasn’t an awkward subject she chose. “Good I can’t wait to hear it dude.”

He laughed. He had missed her more than he could have ever thought possible and he was just now realizing why. It was the stupid little things that he had loved about her. The face she makes when she laughs to cry’s. The stupid little catch phrases she had. The way she acted when she was embarrassed and how her cheeks turned bright pink. It was those little things he found absolutely adorable that had made him fall in love with her for the first time. Suddenly those feelings were taking over his heart once again and he couldn’t wait until they were in complete control.

“How have things been for you? He asked, snapping out of the daze that had previously consumed him.

“Alright, I mean nothing exciting ever happens around here do it was no big deal ya know?” She answered.

“Well, we’re here do I am going to have to ask you to close your eyes and trust me on this one.”

Trust him. There was something she thought she could never do again. “Ok, just hurry this thing up, ok?”

“Ok, just hole onto my hand and we’ll be there soon.”

Whitney nodded, taking in the scent of the sea that surrounded them.

She knew what he had planned. He had always promised her a picnic on the beach and now he was finally going through with it.

“Alright take a seat and be prepared for a shock,” JC said as he moved over behind her to reveal his plan.

“Open ‘em.” He said.

She gasped. This was picture perfect. Could things be any better?

“JC, this is absolutely perfect,” She told him reaching up to give him a hug.

“Well, thank you.” He said, reaching behind his back. “Now, may I have this dance?” He asked as the song “I need you” By LeAnn Rhimes began to play and he extended his hand.

I don't need a lot of things,
I can get by with nothing
Of all the blessings life can bring,
I've always needed something
But I've got all I want
When it comes to loving you
You're my only reason,
You're my only truth
I need you like water
Like breath, like rain
I need you like mercy
From Heaven's gate
There's a freedom in your arms
That carries me through
I need you
You're the hope that moves me
To courage again
You're the love that rescues me
When the cold winds rage
And it's so amazing
'Cause that's just how you are
And I can't turn back now
'Cause you've brought me too far

Whitney sighed. She anted to so bad to have JC back in her life like he was before but she knew she had to hold her ground and show him that what he did was wrong and that he didn’t have control over her no matter how much he did. All he had to do was speak and she would melt at his feet. She just had to wait for time to take its course and hope for the best. Maybe things were would turn out the way she wanted, having JC to love once again but maybe they wouldn’t, maybe he would end up out of her life for good.

“You ready to go home?” Chris asked Andrea as she held Sean in her arms smiling down at him lovingly.

“More than ready,” She told him, placing the baby in the car seat and getting into her own seat.

They drove home talking about what things would be like. How things would change now that they had a child. How things would be better and even worse. There were always pros and cons. Hopefully things wouldn’t go anywhere but up from there, though nothing is ever certain.

“You wanna put him in his bassinet?” She asked Chris.

“Yeah I do, thanks,” He answered, carefully picking up his son and bringing him into his new home. Smiling proudly he placed his new son in his bed and gave him a small kiss on his forehead before closing the door behind him as he left.

“Did you ever imagine you could love someone so much?” He heard Andi ask him as he walked into the living room.

“No, I didn’t, it’s a different kind of love then one I’ve ever experienced. What about you?”

“Are you kidding? NO matter how much pain that little baby may have caused me by pushing a watermelon out a hole the size of a quarter,” She started, getting a laugh out of Chris. “I have more love in my heart now than ever and I can’t wait for everyone to meet him because I am so proud of him.” She finished, the smile that had been there when she started was still evident.

Chris knew how happy she was and he knew what she was feeling. Neither had ever experienced such a love. Sure, they loved each other but this love is different and id something you can never understand until you experience it for yourself.

“Is your mom coming down to see him soon?” Andi asked Chris.

“She told me next week she’d be here, she’s so excited.”

“Yeah she is, but we can’t let him spend too much time with her.”

“Why not?”

“She’ll spoil him and then send him home to his awful parents!” She told him as Chris laughed. “Whatever, my parents and your Dad and the guys and Cait and Whit are going to stop by later, I told Cait I’d call her when he woke up and they could all come over then. She’s so excited about it.”

“I can only imagine what kind of an influence she’ll be…” Chris said, rolling his eyes. “Did you hear how Whitney and JC’s date went?”

“They had a date?!?” She asked shocked.

“Geeze, someone’s a little out of the loop ha? Yeah they had a date, JC took her to the beach and set up a picnic.

“ooh, time to call Whitney.” Andrea told him getting off the couch to grab the phone and call Whitney to get the scoop on her date.
