Chapter Twelve “Chris, do you think everything will be ok?” Andrea asked him.

“What do you mean?” He returned.

“Well, I mean, you’re still a pop star and we have a child to handle now. You’ve seen how hard Kel and Joe work and how hard it is for them, do you think it’ll be like that for us?”

“Look, we can’t predict the future cuz if we could we would both be making millions on the black market with it right now. So, let’s just take this one day at a time, I can guarantee you I'm not going anywhere for at least a couple months now. So we’ll see what happens. But no matter what we can’t change it because this little guy is a permanent fixture whether we like or not, but I get this feeling we will.”

“OK, Chris, but I just hope you’re right about this and that it is as easy as you make it sound.” She told leaning her forehead against his as she still wasn’t completely convinced that everything would work, but she knew he was right at one point. They did have to take it one day at a time and see what happens.

He gave her a light kiss before standing up, “Look, I'm going to lay down in bed and watch some TV, maybe I’ll fall asleep, I’ll be talking with you later sweetie, I love you.”

”Love you too.” Andrea smiled. For now she was happy as could be and she would try to push the thoughts of later out of her mind.

“What do you say we go for a little walk?” Andrea asked, looking into the beautiful eyes of her son, eyes that held so much love for her it was hard to imagine. She put a little sweater on him and put him in the stroller as they ventured out into the world together for the first time.

JC let out a loud sigh into his empty living room.
He had been moping around for days and was almost at his breaking point.
He was constantly thinking about Whitney. Thinking and wondering about what would happen to them.
Would they be over or would they work through this? He couldn’t get those thoughts out of his brain. There was so much in there and it was hard to sort everything out. He hadn’t called Whitney like he had said, not that she had really expected it with the way he left. He needed to talk to her, and he needed to do it soon. If he was acting like this he could only imagine how it was tearing Whitney apart, and he didn’t want her to hurt, he didn’t want anything for her other than happiness.

Her heart was empty again. There was a void that needed to be filled and for her, there was only one man that could fill it. Unfortunately, she didn’t think he wanted to be there anymore. She thought that his heart was closed to her. That what they had was the past for him, and nothing more than a fun time. But she a little part of her hoped he was just as miserable as she was and that he didn’t want her back and that he didn’t want that piece of her heart to be his once again.

She sat, waiting for him to call, waiting to hear the words come out of his mouth. The words that told her he loved her and needed her the way she needed him. She was waiting to hear him that he couldn’t live without her, that he needed her in his life always, that no one could ever compare to her in his eyes.

That was what she wanted, but she couldn’t see it happening. The only this she could picture was him telling her she couldn’t have him anymore, that the place she once held in his heart was no longer hers, that the love they had shared was now being shared with someone else, that was all she could hear in her mind. She hated it, she tried desperately to get rid of those thoughts but it was impossible. At night she dreamed of him, at work he would pop into her thoughts, when she went out, he was always a presence in her actions, at times she thought it pathetic, but there was nothing she could do to stop it, he was there and he would always be there.

“What are we doing today?” Justin asked Cait.

“What am I the tour guide?” She asked in return.

”No, I just figured that since you did plan this trip you would know.” He smirked.

“Well, in fact I do know what we’re doing, but it’s a surprise so get ready and I’ll take you ok?”

“Alright, but it better be good, I don’t want you taking me somewhere and having it be crappy just to be mean.”

“Justin, shut up and get ready to go, I love you and I would never be THAT mean to you.”

“Whatever, let’s go.” He said, a pout on his face.

“Wait...” She told him, turning to him and placing a big kiss right on his lips. “better?”

“oh yeah,” He answered, giving her one last peck before they left.

“Alright, you ready for some fun?” Cait asked as they arrived.

“Oh yeah, now lets go, I wanna know what you planned for this lovely day ahead of us.”

“Ok,” She said, getting out of the car along with him as they walked towards a hill.

“What’s this?” Justin asked, seeing a van with the word parasailing on it.

“My surprise,” Cait started. “We’re going parasailing today.”

“Are you serious?”

“Hell yeah! Now come on, I wanna get this show on the road, we have other things planned for today too, ya know.”

“Ok, come on.” Justin said, holding her hand as they walked up to the instructor so he could give them instructions and he could teach them a few things before they got to go out on their own.

“That was so fun! Thanks,” Justin told Cait, giving her a kiss to show his appreciation.

“Mmm...I had a blast.” She told him.

“Alright, now I had something else planned for today, but I didn’t realize this was going to take so long, so I guess we’ll just have to save it for tomorrow, ok?”

“It’s all good, I think that was enough for one day anyway.” ”Ok, you ready to go get some food then?” I'm starving!”

“Ok, baby, let’s go,”

“Alright, and Justin...”

“Yes?”

“I love you.” Cait told him, looking straight up into his beautiful blue eyes.

He smiled, “I love you too, sweetie.” He told her, giving her a kiss.

“Hello?” Whitney answered her phone with a slight sigh thinking it was one more person asking how she was.

“Hi,” She heard JC’s voice come form the other end of the line. “Can we talk?”

“Of course, but can we meet somewhere, I don’t want to do this over the phone.” Whitney requested.

“Of course, how about the coffee shop in the center?” he suggested.

“Sounds like a plan to me, fifteen?”

“Ok, see ya then, bye.” She said quietly hanging up the phone. This was it, the moment she had been waiting for for a long time. Now that it was here, she wasn’t so sure she was ready to face him, to hear what he had to say, for anything.

“Hey, longtime no see.” Whitney greeted JC as she saw him sitting in a table by the corner.

“Same to you,” He replied.

“So, what do you have to say for yourself?” She asked him.

“Well, Whitney, we need to talk about us.”

“Yeah, I know, but I just don’t know what to say to you.”

“Look, I know the other day things were really weird, but I just, I don’t know how to act around you anymore.” He started, putting his hand up when she went to say something. “I mean, I have realized all these times we’ve been apart, there’s no one else for me, I need you and only you, but Whit, I'm confused.”

“JC, I understand, I do, but I don’t know what to do to help out here either. I’m just waiting for you to prove to me that you’re wroth giving my trust to again.” She started. “You hurt me last time I did and I'm not willing to go through that again so until I can believe that it really won’t happen, things are going to be different, and not necessarily a good different either, it’s going to be hard, but if you really care as much as you keep saying, you won’t leave again, you won’ go running scared.”

“Whitney, this isn’t easy, I have been ripping myself apart trying to figure this whole thing out, I mean I just don’t understand it at all, I thought we were going to last forever and then everything went crashing to the ground and it seems to be taking forever to rebuild it.”

“I know JC, and I have been just as torn as you, asking myself what I did wrong, asking what I could have done to help you and me. I told you it wouldn’t be easy, but you running away is only making it worse, so please, either stick this through or tell me now that you’re not so I can start to try and move on, JC, I can’t keep doing this to myself, it’s time I think about me.” She started to tell him. “I need to do hat right for me, not you, I can’t keep waiting around for you to make up your mind and leave me in the dust in the meantime miserable and isolated from everything, it’s just not going to work anymore, Jace. Sorry.” Whitney finished as JC sat there silent for a moment.

“I can do this.”

“You wanna know something Chris?” Andi asked him as they sat together on the couch after she had laid Sean down for his nap.

“No, but will you tell me?”

“Of course I will,” She started. “I love you.”

“Really?” he asked back. “Well, n that case, I love you too.” He told her, placing a kiss on her lips as Andi sighed.

“I think we should get one of the guys to baby sit and go out tonight.”

“I don’t know...” She said warily.

“Come one, you know they’re responsible, only for a little while, and we’ll make it after he’s down until his feeding, please, for me?”

“Alright, fine, one condition...” She started.

“The person that comes over isn’t Joey!”

He laughed. “You got it, I’ll go call...Whitney, is she a good candidate?”

“Yeah, I guess since Cait is GONE!”

“Oooh...that was low, really low.”

“I know, but yet, so perfect.”

“Alright, you can go do whatever, I'm going to get Whitney, I'm sure with the her JC situation, she’s free and willing to get out of that house.”

“Oh, I can only imagine...” Andi said, walking away with a smile playing on her lips.

“This is so beautiful,” Cait told Justin as they walked down a deserted part of the beach that night.

“Yeah, it is,” He replied nervously.

“Something wrong with you?” She asked him.

“No, nothing at all, why?” He asked, eyeing her sideways.

“You just seem to be acting really weird that’s all,”

“Oh, no nothing’s wrong,” He told her. “Can I ask you something?” He question, walking to get in front of her.

“Anything.”

“Well, you know I love you and I would do absolutely anything for you?” He asked, Cait nodding her as thoughts starting wildly running through her head. “Well, Cait, I love you and I could never imagine my life without you, and I want you to be mine forever,” He started as Cait got a frightened look on her face. “Will you be my wife?”

She froze. How could this be happening. This wasn’t planned on. She had this planned out and this was not on the agenda. “I-I can’t.” Cait said, running away from him and back to the hotel.

She ran all the way up the stairs to the fifth floor and straight into her room, flying onto her bed sobbing.

Soon she heard the door click as it shut and she tensed immediately, it could only be him. The one person in the world, that at that moment, she couldn’t have wanted to see less.

Cait...” He said apprehensively.

There was nothing but silence.

“Come one baby, talk to me, I thought you loved me?”

Her head shot up. “You think I don’t love you?”

“Well, why else would you runaway crying when I asked you to marry me?”

“Because, Jus, I'm not ready for this. I love you with all my heart, but I'm not ready for this kind of commitment. I can’t handle this right now. I have school, and work, and everything, I'm not ready to get married. I'm only 21 years old, I have my whole life ahead of me Jus. And yes, I want it to be with you, but I'm not ready for this, I'm sorry.”

He sighed. “I love you, and if you love me, why can’t you say yes and then hold off? Cait, that was rough shit out there.”

“I know, and I am sorry Justin, but I mean come on, you know fully well that I am NOT ready to be your wife. To have all that responsibility on my shoulders, God, there’s not a chance, I'm sorry, my love for you is still just as strong as ever, but I'm just not ready.”

“And accept that, and you’re right, I should have know, but Cait, I love you and I just want to be with you.”

“Justin, we will be together forever, no matter what, it will be you and me.”

“Is that a promise?”

“Guaranteed...”

“Awesome, you ready for bed?”

“Mmm...almost, just one more thing I need,” She told him, slowly and passionately attacking his lips.

Shout at me
