Chapter Thirteen “I think things may finally be getting back to normal,” Whitney told Andi during their phone conversation.

“Well, good. What exactly made you come to this decision?” She asked her.

“Well, we talked a few things out, it’s all a little but clearer now you know? Things make a little bit more sense” She started. “Like why he was shying away, why he wasn’t being JC, the JC I know.”

“Well, I'm happy for you. I could tell how much it sucked to have things like that.”

“Oh, and did it ever!” Whit said as they both laughed. “How have things been with you and Chris lately?”

“Never better,” She simply answered.

“Good, I'm happy, I wasn’t sure which way this whole pregnancy thing was going to take you guys. I mean Chris is a loyal guy, but even he breaks sometimes ya know what I’m saying?”

“Yeah I do, and to tell you the truth I wasn’t sure which was it was going to go either.” Andrea started. “I mean, I wasn’t so sure I was ready for a child. I have a job I love, dancing is my life, I have a guy that means the world to me, two now, and I wasn’t sure if he would be able to handle it either. He has his life in the pop world, I didn’t know what would happen then.”

“That’s understandable. Well, I’d hate to bust, but I hafta get to work. I’ll be talking with you soon chick, lada.” Whit said.

“Bye, see you tonight.” Andi said, hanging up the phone with a heavy sigh.

“Ask me again,” Cait said to Justin at dinner the next night, the last night of their trip.

“Ask you what, what you’re getting?” He asked with a slight laugh.

“No, what you asked me last night,” She started, a smile never even playing on her lips, “ask me again.”

“Cait, don’t do this to me again, please,” Justin pleased.

“Justin, I want you to ask me again.”

“Alright,” He started, getting out of hi seat and kneeling in front of Cait as her stomach began to do somersaults. “Cait, before you were in my life, I was lost and confused, but ever since I found you things have been clear as ever and I don’t know what I would do without you, will you marry me?”

She sat in silence as she let his words sink in. “Yes,” She told him quietly as the tears she had been holding in poured down her cheeks and all the people around them began to cheer and she buried he head in his shoulder.

“Why did you change your mind?” Justin asked later that night.

“I did a lot of thinking last night, Jus, and I realized what I had done was not only extremely mean to you, but stupid. I love you with everything I have. I don’t know what I would do without you, I mean, I don’t want to rush into this whole wedding thing, but I do want to marry you a couple years down the road. I do.” She repeated, smiling widely.

“I see, and you’re sure about this right? When we finally do this thing you’re not gonna go running and leave me stag at the altar?”

“I could never do that to you baby, I love you,” She told him, placing a sweet kiss on his lips.

“Alright sweetie, I love you, goodnight.”

“I love you too, sleep tight.” He said as she smiled, slowly closing into her eyes as she fell into a deep sleep.

After the other night Cait had done a whole lot of thinking about Justin asking her to marry him, how she reacted and everything else that followed.
She knew he was right. She could have said yes and then held off but at the time it wasn’t something that ran through her mind. The only thing Cait could see was her, standing at the altar, as if it were tomorrow, she was scared.
Cait was still too young to be married and she knew she still had a lot to learn in life and she wanted to learn those things before she made the kind of commitment Justin was asking for. She may not be ready to marry him yet, but Cait knew there would never be anyone else in her life.

“I missed you so much!” Whitney told Cait once she had come off the plane. “I have so much to fill you in on!”

“Well, I can’t wait to hear it, but first I think I'm going to go home with Justin and get some rest, I’ll call you later and we’ll talk, alright?” Cait asked as they she, Whitney, and Justin exited the airport.

“You got it, and I’ll be waiting so don’t try and pull one over on me here buddy.”

“Alright, I’ll see you later, hon, love ya!”

“Lada!” Whitney said leaving Justin and Cait so they could go home and sleep.

“Alright, so what’s going on?” Cait asked Whitney late that night after she had woken up.

“A lot,” She laughed. “Who do you want to hear about first?”

“Started with the simplest,” Cait said. “my brain needs to wake up too.”

“Ok, Andi and Chris, they had their first night out since little Sean was born, I thought she was going to fall she was so worried about leaving him. And she didn’t even hire a babysitter, she got me to do it.” Whit and Cait laughed.

“That’s Andi for you.”

“Yeah, ok, now, me and JC.”

“Oooh, now this should be good.” Cait said.

“Alright, buckle up, this was a ride.” Whitney started before launching into the whole story for her.

“And this all happened in two weeks?” Cait asked once she had finished her story.

“Oh yeah, definitely.”

“Well, let me say, I'm glad I'm not you!”

“Gee, thanks so very much. I could have used you you know?”

“Why? I only would have made things worse we all know this.” She laughed.

“please, you’re the best and cheapest therapist anyone could ever ask for. Justin’s lucky he gets that forever.”

“What are you talking about forever?”

“Oh, nothing, nothing at all.”

“Whitney, who told you and what did they tell you?”

“Cait, I swear no one told me anything.”

“You’re lying, I know you’re lying, you said forever, no one said me and Justin were a forever thing.”

“Cait, that not so little ring on your finger gives it away.”

She let out a sigh. “That’s it?”

“Yeah, that’s it. Why are you so worried about people knowing?”

“I don’t know, it’s just that, were not rushing into this, we’re waiting a couple years at least and I don’t want anyone to know unless me and Justin tell them together either.”

“Oh, sorry then, I didn’t mean to ruin anything.”

“don’t worry about it, you didn’t do anything, I'm just nervous about the whole thing.”

“Please, with that ring and the man that comes with it the only thing I’d be worried about was falling forward from the weight.”

Cait laughed. Whitney was right. She knew she had years before they were actually going to get married so why sweat it now? “I guess you have a point, but I hope you don’t think you’re getting out of just sitting in the audience for this thing, you’ll be sweating it out on the altar right there with me.”

“Oh, you can count on it.”

“super duper.”

“Well, I have a lil something called work to be getting to, I’ll talk to you later, I'm glad you had fun on your trip, and don’t sweat it, you love him and you have nothing to worry about. Lada chick, I love ya!”

“Lada Whit, love ya.”
