The Valkyries ('chosers of the slain') are said to be beautiful young women, mounted upon winged horses and armed with helmets and spears. Odin uses them to scout battle fields, looking for the bravest warriors, which he needs to fight for him in the up and coming Ragnarok. Once they find suitable men, called Einherjar, they escort them to Odin's hall, Valhalla.
The Valkyries are also Messenger's of Odin, and when they ride back and forth doing his requests, it is said their armor causes a strange flickering light that is called the 'Aurora Borealis' (Northern Lights).

Valkyrie is a projectile weapon, used by Rinoa that can fly straight at the enemy using its stabilizing fins. The blade is extremely deadly. |
