Final Escape

Final Fantasy X-2 Storyline- Not much has been released about this game still, but this is what i have...

FFX-2 is said to take place about two years after the original FFX. Yuna, Wakka, and Lulu are all spending their days on the island of Besaid. Wakka, who's sportin' some pudge and Lulu have hooked up and are going to have a child. Yuna on the other hand has had her hands full ever since the defeat of Sin and the fall of Yevon. New religious groups are poping up everywhere and are all fighting for the support of Yuna, since she is now highly reveared by the people of Spira. But, as in FFX, Yuna's primary concern are still the common people, and spends a lot of her time with them. We can't forget about Kimahri who is now teaching young Ronso children on Mt. Gagazet.

The world of Spira has seemed to have changed greatly in the two years that have passed. Since the fall of Yevon, the supposed "forbidden" machina is being used by more and more people, and the Al Bhed people are no longer outcasts. This has given Rikku the chance to spend her time salvaging machina and teaching people how to use it. Another surprise is that certain foes from FFX, mainly the mechanical ones, are now on the side of good.

The beginning of the story starts out with Kimahri's discovery of a sphere, the vision inside worries him and he gives it to Rikku who takes it to Yuna. Yuna watches the sphere which shows a low quality image of Tidus in a cage. He's yelling various things like why was he arrested, that he needed to use the machina to save the Summoner, and he repeatedly demands to be set free and to see Yuna. Yuna, needless to say is stunned. Wakka suggests that they should simply look into it. This pisses Rikku off, and she goes on to say that it's time for Yuna to put her needs first. After much thought, Yuna agrees with Rikku to leave and investigate. Yuna changes her clothes so that she is not as easily recognized by the common people, hence the new outfit.

There is information that there will be more for Yuna to do other then investigating the origin of the sphere, but Square will not go into specifics. Yuna will take on all challengers with her main party that consists of herself, Rikku, and a new female character who's name is Pain. There is some discussion concerning her name. Some sources explain that her name is "Pain" while others explain that her name is "Pine." We will have an update on confirming her true name in the future.

During the game you will take control of Yuna. The controls will be a lot different than any previous Final Fantasy. She will be able to dash, climb, and even jump around the world map. Square says that this isn't to make FFX-2 more like an action-adventure game, but to add to the possibilities and difficulty of the regular gameplay. The battle system will also be redone, and overdrives and overkills have been thrown out. It is also thought that Yuna will fight underwater during some battles in FFX-2, like Tidus did in FFX. Yuna will be ditching her staff and will be using two guns as her main weapons.
