Three Days In Las Vegas

Three Days in Las Vegas

1

“Well folks, looks like we’ll be landing in about 20 minutes. The weather in Las Vegas is a pleasant 85 degrees with mild showers and a nice breeze. On behalf of the airline, I would like to be the first to welcome you and sincerely hope you have a nice stay here in Las Vegas, or wherever your destination lies.”

Phil opened his eyes and sighed as he looked across the aisle.

“We’re late,” Joe huffed. “Doesn’t look like I’ll be get’in me casino time in t’night.”

“All I want is sleep,” Phil rubbed his eyes.

“Food,” Vivian added from behind him. “And food.”

“At this point? I don’t bloody care,” he grumbled.

“Auss, wake up,” Sav shook him. “We’re ‘ere.”

He blinked his eyes and looked out the window. “Wow!”

“I’ll get the boys if you want to get the luggage,” Bethany, the new nanny suggested.

“That would be great,” he nodded.

She stepped off of the jet and turned her cell phone on. Just as soon as she pushed the button, her ‘Canon in D’ ring tone began going off. “Yes?” she spat.

“Amy, are you here yet?”

“Yes, Nathan,” she huffed. “We took off late due to weather.”

“Great! Call me when you get to your hotel.”

“Uh… why don’t I call you in the morning? All I want to do is get to my hotel and crash. I’ve got a long day tomorrow.”

“If you insist. But I’ll be there at 7:00 AM.”

“I should be so lucky,” she pressed the end button as she followed the pack toward the baggage claim.

She stopped just as the carousel began moving. She rose to the tips of her toes in the attempt to see over the shoulders of the men in front of her. Damn her Japanese mother’s height! Even in the heels she was wearing, she was only 5’5”!

“Excuse me,” a man with a British accent pushed past her.

“Don’t mind me,” she mumbled as she moved down.

After a few people grabbed their bags and pulled away, she made it to the front and spotted her black leather bag. She reached for it and with all of her might, swung it around… and right into the blond British man.

“Oof!” Phil caught himself from falling back.

“I am so…” she tried to keep herself from laughing, “so sorry.”

“Glad I could ‘elp,” he placed the bag on the floor. “That’s an awfully big bag for such a tiny lady.”

“Well, it’s home,” she joked.

“I know what you mean,” he grinned. “Oh, there’s mine,” he held his finger up to her before retrieving his black leather bag and placing it on the floor next to hers.

“Amy Bradford,” she held her hand out.

“Phil Collen,” he nodded.

“Well, Phil. Thanks for letting me knock the air out of you.”

“It was fun,” he laughed as she reached for her bag. “Have a nice stay.”

“And you as well,” she nodded before quickly walking off.

“You can stop droolin’ now,” Sav smirked as he stood in front of him.

“I’m a free man again,” he retorted.

“And so wild these days,” he rolled his eyes as he walked off, pushing a cart full of luggage.

“I can be,” he protested.

After what seemed like an eternity, Phil finally made it to his room. He threw his bag onto the bed and walked to the bathroom to begin his nightly ritual. After turning on the shower to let it warm up, he returned to the bed and tried to open his bag, but it was locked.

“I never lock it,” he huffed as he again tried. He sighed as he looked at the luggage tag. “Amethyst Bradford,” he sat down. “Great. Just great.”

Amy woke up the next morning and pounded her fist down onto the alarm clock. She yawned and stretched for a moment before sitting up in bed. She was so tired the night before; she had slipped her clothes off and slept in her slip when she arrived in her hotel room. But, it was time to begin her day of press, photos and concerts.

She walked to the closet and pulled her bag out. She immediately reached for the luggage tag to retrieve her secret key, but the tag didn’t open. “Oh, no!” she sighed as she opened the bag. There, on the top was a shaving kit. She turned back to the luggage tag and rolled her eyes. “Well Phil, I hope you enjoy the lavender body wash.”

“Mal, you’ve got to get me some clothes, mate,” Phil spoke over the phone.

“And what would be wrong with the ones you’ve got?”

“They’re now in the possession of a Miss Bradford. And I’ve got a suitcase that’s locked.”

“Is her address on the tag?”

“Yup. In New York City,” he nodded.

“I’m on it,” he sighed before hanging up.

“This isn’t funny, Nate,” Amy stood in the doorway. “I need shampoo, body wash… hair spray… something to wear…”

“Oh come on! I think the running pants would look great!” he laughed.

“Not funny,” she huffed. “I have an interview with the hotel news in an hour, what am I going to do?”

“I’m on it, Am,” he raised his hands in defeat. “Just use the hotel toiletries this morning and I’ll make an appointment for the spa this afternoon.”

“Ugh!” she slammed the bathroom door.

Phil stared at the suitcase for the longest time. He then began to work on the lock. There had to be something inside… an itinerary… or cell phone number…

He began beating on the lock and on one swipe, knocked the tag off. As it opened up, a key went flying across the floor.

“Well then, that was easy,” he rubbed his knuckles.

Amy returned from her interview and sighed when she stared at the strange bag. She had so much she needed to do… she was completely lost without her palm pilot. She didn’t even have her sisters’ numbers memorized. They were all in that tiny computer.

“There has to be something…” she began to go through his things. Shaving kit… one pair of boxer shorts… black socks, white socks… trainers… boots… one pair of sweat pants and a pair of jeans… and one shirt. “Okay, one shirt and one pair of underwear? What, does he go commando?”

The thought made her cheeks blush into a pale pink as she thought about it. He was… kind of cute. In a very pale British man sort of way…

“Well, well, well… Who are you, Miss Amethyst?” he picked up her palm pilot and quickly turned it on. He then looked at the contents beneath. “Wow, we’re extremely organized…” he came across a packet of individually wrapped toiletries. “Could be anal…”

He returned his attention to the palm pilot and popped the stylus out. A smile came across his face as he found her home phone number. “Surely she calls home and checks her messages.”

Amy checked a side pocket of Phil’s suitcase and came across a planner. Her insides flipped as she began searching for a phone number. She grinned as she grabbed the phone. “Surely he checks his messages.”

“Phil, got an interview,” Sav knocked on his door.

“Be right there,” he hung up and ran to the door. “Aye, Austin!” he held out his hand as the three-year-old slapped it. “You goin’ with us?”

“Yup!” he smiled at his father.

“Thought we’d stop by ‘Circus, Circus’ on our way back,” Sav smiled at Phil.

“Oh yeah!”

“Amy, dress rehearsal in ten!” Nathan knocked on her door.

“Coming!” she hung up and ran to the door. “Everything set?”

“We just need you, sweetheart.”

“Let’s go then,” she smiled.

“Thank goodness I had my kimono shipped,” Amy looked over her wardrobe.

“We’re ready,” the sound technician knocked on the door of her dressing room.

“I’ll be right there,” she nodded before turning to her manager. “So I’m still doing Bach, Beethoven, Beethoven, Pachelbel?”

“Thought we were starting with Mozart?”

“That’s right,” she nodded, as there was another knock on the door.

“Hieee!”

She looked up to see her sisters Emerald and Ruby.

“Hey! I’m glad you made it!” she hugged each of them.

“Em didn’t get us too lost,” Ruby giggled.

“Iie, you let her drive?” she coughed.

“You’re not much better, little sister,” Em laughed.

“Okay, okay. I’ve got to go. I’ll try to wrap this up as quickly as I can.”

“God, it feels great ‘ere,” Joe took a deep breath as he walked down the street.

“I just wish I ‘ad me things,” Phil sighed.

“You’ll get ‘em, mate. Maybe not be ‘til she gets back and listens to ‘er messages, but you will,” Sav reassured him.

“Not soon enough. I hate breakin’ in new trousers,” he adjusted himself.

“Aye, what did you say ‘er name was again?” Sav squinted as he shielded his eyes from the sun.

“Amy Bradford.”

“Like that?” Joe pointed to a sign for the Four Seasons.

“Amethyst Bradford, this weekend…” Phil read. “I’ll be damned”

“We finished?” Amy pushed back from her piano and looked up. “I’d like to hit the slots before the show tonight.”

“Wouldn’t we all,” Nathan mumbled.

“Speak for yourself,” she wiggled her eyebrows. “Anything else?”

“Nope, go!”

“Later!” she was out in a flash, her sisters hot on her heels.

“I’m really sorry about this,” Sav explained to Bethany.

“It’s my job, Mr. Savage,” she nodded.

“Would you stop calling me that please? He’s my father, not me,” he smiled. “I’m sure we’ll be back soon, and then you can go out for a while.”

“They lads’ll be fine. Go have fun with your mates,” she nodded.

“Thanks, Bethany,” he winked before walking out for the night.

She smiled as she stared at the door for a moment, before returning to Austin and Tommy.

“Phil? Phil!” Joe spat.

“Huh?”

“Shhh!” someone from behind them spat.

“You ‘aven’t taken your eyes off ‘er,” he chuckled.

“I just can’t believe… all that music’s comin’ from ‘er fingers!”

“She’s so…” Sav began.

“Passionate,” Phil answered for him. “Extremely.”

Joe looked over at Sav as they shared a smile. Oh yeah, he was gone.

As soon as the lights came up, Phil dashed off to the stage. Sav and Joe waited in their seats as the crowd filtered out.

“Amy!” Phil waved as she walked back stage. “Amy!” he tried again, but she didn’t hear him.

“Crikey!” he sighed as he looked around. There was no way to get up onto the stage.

“I am so ready for food!” Amy ran back to her dressing room.

“Let’s go with you like that,” Ruby giggled as she pointed to her sister’s kimono.

“Let’s not,” she huffed. “People might give me their order.”

Both of her sisters laughed as she walked back to change.

“Why don’t we go eat and then ask around?” Joe suggested.

“Sounds like a plan,” Sav nodded.

“I suppose,” he sighed. “Where to?”

Sav smiled. “There’s a great Japanese place a few streets down. It was Min’s favorite.”

Joe patted his shoulder. “Then that’s where we’ll go.”

“Konbanwa,” the hostess bowed to Joe, Sav and Phil.

“Hai, konbanwa,” they used what little Japanese they knew from touring to wish her a good evening.

She smiled and led them to a room with a huge grill surrounded by a table. They kicked off their shoes and knelt down on pillows as they waited to place their orders.

“Konbanwa,” the hostess bowed to Emerald, Ruby and Amethyst.

“Hai, konbanwa,” they bowed in respect.

“Eigo o hanasemasuka?” Ruby asked if she spoke English.

“Chotto dake,” she answered that she only spoke a little.

“Wakarimashita,” Emerald sympathized with her as they followed her to a room.

Joe looked up as a group of women speaking Japanese neared them.

“Would you like… share?” the hostess asked.

He spit his water through his nose as Sav laughed.

“You dirty minded little men,” Ruby giggled as they stood in the doorway. “There are plenty of places in here, can you please share your room?”

“By all means,” Phil grinned as the two other sister walked in.

“Phil!” Amy smiled brightly.

“Amy!” he grinned. “Fancy meetin’ you ‘ere.”

“Yeah,” she bit her lip as they stared at one another.

“Ahem,” Em cleared her throat.

She ignored her and slipped her shoes off before taking a seat next to him. “So, have you tried my lavender body wash?” she giggled.

“Thought about it,” he laughed. “You worn me clothes?”

“No… but I’ve got a question for you,” she smiled wickedly as she whispered in his ear.

He licked his lips before answering. “Nope!”

“Rick Savage,” he held his hand out to Em. “Since they’re busy.”

“Aren’t they, though? Em Bradford,” she shook his hand.

“Ruby Bradford,” she shook Joe’s hand.

“Joe. That’s Phil. I believe he an your sister switched suitcases at the airport last night.”

“Ah,” Em giggled. “So now I get the joke.”

“Joke?” Sav asked.

“Never mind,” Ruby blushed.

“So your Mum’s Japanese?” Phil walked Amy back to her hotel.

“Yes. And Dad’s American. They met when he was in the Marines, stationed on Okinawa.”

“So you’re an island girl?” he grinned.

“Oh yes,” she giggled. “My sisters and I grew up translating for my mother. She still doesn’t speak English well.”

“So how did she come up with your names?”

“I have no idea!” she rolled her eyes. “She can’t even pronounce them! That’s why we’re Amy, Em and Bee!””

“Bee?”

“Ever heard a Japanese person try to pronounce Ruby? It’s more like Loobee. Not pretty.”

Phil could hardly contain his laughter.

“Well, we’re here,” she pointed to her room. “Let’s get your bag, shall we?”

“Sure,” he followed her in while carrying her bag.

“Thanks so much, Phil. I never realized how dependent I was on my palm pilot until I lost it.”

“I know what you mean,” he nodded.

“Is there anything I can do… to make it up to you?” she looked up at him.

He suddenly became nervous. “Uh… like… what?”

“Well… I could take you to lunch tomorrow?”

“That would be lovely,” he nodded.

“I’ve got a photo session at 10:00 and I should be out by 12:30.”

“We ‘av sound check at Noon. You could come by and watch, though. I wouldn’t mind.”

“I’ll do that,” she looked into his eyes. “Thanks again.”

“Thank you,” he stared at her.

She blushed as she looked away.

“Tomorrow,” he nodded before heading for the door.

“Um… your bag,” she smiled.

“Yeah,” he blushed. “Sorry.”

“I’ll see you tomorrow,” she kissed his cheek before walking him out.

“They’re asleep,” Bethany whispered as Sav tiptoed into the room.

“Thanks again,” he sat beside her and smiled. “We ‘ad a lot of fun.”

“That’s great. You went to a show?”

“Amethyst Bradford, she’s pianist. She was brilliant. And then we ‘ad dinner with ‘er. Turns out she’s the bird that switched bags with Phil last night.”

“Oh!” she laughed lightly. “Well, worked out then, didn’t it?”

“Oh yeah,” he nodded. “Well, why don’t you go out for a while?”

“I don’t think that’s necessary.”

“I do. It’ll be fun. A least go down stairs an putter ‘round.”

She watched him for a moment. “Fine. I won’t be more than an hour.”

“Good on ya,” he winked at her and smiled. “I’ll be in bed,” he nodded before heading to his room.

She sighed as she walked into her room. “I wish he’d stop doing that.”

“Sounds really good,” Vivian commented as he listened to the monitor.

“What does Mal think?” Phil looked up.

“He’s busy,” Joe chuckled as he pointed to the back of the room.

Malvin was speaking to Amy and her sisters.

Phil smiled as he looked at her. She had on a sleeveless mock turtleneck with the left shoulder cut out. It was conservative, yet showed a lot of skin. A lot of her soft, creamy skin… and her short, black mini skirt…”

“Earth to Phillip!” Sav laughed.

“Huh?”

“Next song, please!” Joe chuckled.

Once sound check was over, Amy’s sisters split up and she took Phil to lunch. They went to an oriental noodle restaurant that she wanted to try.

“Oh! Steamed soybeans! My favorite!” she grinned as she read over the menu. “My Nini used to make these.”

He grinned at her. “I kinda like ‘em too.”

“Great,” she read on.

They went on throughout lunch, and talked about their musical careers, touring, and their families. She taught him how to properly use chopsticks so that his hands wouldn’t cramp up and he filled her in on some of the hot spots in LA.

As they finished up, Amy looked over her shoulder and nodded. At first, Phil was confused. He had noticed a few Asian tourists watching them throughout their lunch, but he didn’t realize that they were waiting… for autographs.

Amy politely spoke to each of them as they bowed and spoke in Japanese. She signed what they gave her and politely said her goodbyes. They each acknowledged Phil and bowed to him as well. Then, they walked away.

“Ready?” she grinned at him.

“Ready,” he took her hand.

“Look!” Austin pointed to the huge water fountain as Tommy clapped his hands.

“Big, yeah?” Sav laughed.

“I wanna swim!”

“Not in there, little mate,” he patted his back. “We’ll go back to the hotel to swim, right?”

“Okay,” he nodded.

“Great,” he took a deep breath as he watched the fountains.

Bethany watched him for a moment. “Are you all right?”

“I can’t believe that nearly two years ago, we were all here. Doin’ the same thing. Austin doesn’t even remember,” he shook his head.

She gently placed her hand on his. “But you do. And you can teach him. Both of them.”

He looked down at her and smiled shyly as he rubbed his thumb across her hand. “Thanks.”

“I had a great time,” Phil smiled as they arrived at Amy’s hotel room.

“So did I,” she sighed, wishing that it didn’t have to end. “I’m sorry I can’t make it to your show tonight. I’d really like to see your band,” she led him in.

“I understand. You’ve got two shows t’night.”

They stared at one another.

“So… when are you leavin’?” he nearly whispered.

“Tomorrow. I’ve got a week in Branson. You?”

“Tomorrow,” he sighed. “We’re off to Phoenix before we hit Europe.”

“I’m sure our paths will cross again,” she smiled.

“I am too,” he leaned down to gently kiss her.

“Um… Amy?” Nathan interrupted them.

They both looked up at him.

“Sorry,” he felt like an ass. “We’ve got an interview for the Vegas paper.”

“I’ll be right there,” she nodded.

“I need to be goin’ as well,” Phil pointed to the elevator.

“Good bye, Phil,” she waved.

“Bye, Amy,” he grinned.

She looked at Nathan for a moment before looking down at her dresser. Her lavender body wash was gone. She smiled before looking up. “I’m ready.”

“So what are we doing?” Ruby asked as Amy pulled her hair down.

“I think I’ve got plans,” she smiled.

“Are you sure Am? I mean… what happens after tonight?”

“I don’t know,” she sighed. “Since when have I ever been interested in the future, though?”

“She’s got a point,” Em nodded.

“I can’t,” Phil wiped his face with a towel. “Plans that came up and can’t be avoided.”

“But…” Malvin began to anger.

“I’ve got it, Mal,” Sav patted his shoulder. “I’ll take the interview.”

“You? You ‘aven’t gone to an interview willingly since you came back!” he spat.

“Well… guess it’s time,” he looked at Phil.

“Thanks mate,” he smiled before heading off to the showers.

She took a deep breath as she knocked on the door. Maybe he wasn’t in yet? She knocked again.

Phil opened the door and smiled. “Can I help you?”

“I can’t very well take a shower if you’ve still got my lavender body wash,” she flashed her eyes at him.

“I ‘ave to admit, I’m addicted to it,” he stepped back and let her in.

“I’m sure you are,” she laughed.

“No really, smell,” he tilted his head and stepped up to her.

She looked up at him before leaning in to smell his neck. He closed his eyes as a chill ran down his back. She ran her nose up his neck and to his ear, which she pulled into her mouth.

Instinct took over as he grabbed her shoulders and pulled her into him. She pulled her head back and looked up at him. They watched one another for a moment before their lips magnetically found one another.

She began to pull and tug at his shirt as he carefully unbuttoned her tight black shirt. As he pulled it down her shoulders, he dove in to kiss her neck. He then noticed the black lacey bra she had on. He remembered it from her suitcase and smiled.

She pulled his shirt off and threw it across the room as he unzipped the back of her black leather skirt. He followed by pushing it and her black panties down her lean thighs.

“Moment of truth,” she shot him a sexy smile before unzipping his jeans.

He held his arms out and let them fall to his ankles, revealing that he in fact had nothing on underneath.

She laughed as he kicked the jeans off and pushed her onto his bed. He kissed a trail as he crawled up to meet her. She pulled her own bra off before pressing her bare body against his. The warmth he radiated was driving her wild. She pushed him onto his back and kissed him passionately.

“I’m not sure if I’ve got any…” he looked around.

“Don’t worry, I do,” she reached onto the floor and pulled a package of condoms from her purse. “I was a girl scout,” she winked before tearing one open.

“Thank God!” he moaned as she placed the condom in her mouth. “What are you…”

She quickly dove and began to use her mouth to roll the condom down on his throbbing erection.

“Wasn’t aware they taught that in girl scouts,” he closed his eyes.

“What can I say, I’m good with my mouth,” she licked her way back to his mouth.

He quickly rolled her over and pressed her body into the soft mattress.

“Oh!” she arched her back as he began pushing deeper and deeper inside her.

“You feel so good,” he whispered before biting on her shoulder.

She took a hold of his face with her hands. “No talking, and slow down.”

He stared at her as he obeyed.

She seemed to be reading his thoughts as she looked into his eyes. They were mesmerized with one another as they slowly made love. She finally broke her gaze as she closed her eyes and wrapped her legs around him.

“Oh!” she dug her nails into his back as her body clamped tightly around him.

He smiled before kissing her. She bit his lip before once again pushing him onto his back. He sat up to take her in his arms as she rocked her hips into his. He breathed into her neck as he felt himself on the edge. The edge that he was quickly pushed over as she once again began to tighten around him.

“Ah!” he held tightly to her.

She opened her eyes as she pressed her forehead against his. They looked deeply into one another’s eyes as their orgasms slammed through them. As they stopped moving, they kissed, and stayed that way for a long while until exhaustion consumed them both and they fell to the bed.

Amy looked down at a sleeping Phil and smiled. He was so cute. She couldn’t help but like him. She looked around the room to make sure she had absolutely everything. When she was satisfied, she bent down and gave him a lingering kiss on the cheek.

“Bye, Phil,” she whispered before walking out.

When he woke up, he immediately looked around the room. “Amy?” he called out, only to receive no answer. Surely she wouldn’t leave without saying goodbye. He then looked at the nightstand and smiled. There was a note underneath one of her earrings.

I had a wonderful night. Maybe one day we’ll find a reason on see each other again.

Amy

He looked down at the amethyst stud and grinned. “Maybe.”

Joe patted Phil’s shoulder as he moped toward the jet. “You all right?”

“I’m good,” he smiled as he nodded.

“I’m sure you’ll see ‘er again. I mean stranger things ‘ave ‘appened.”

“I know I will,” he hid a grin.

“Ah!” Bethany lost her balance while putting away her bag and fell into Sav’s lap.

“Are you okay?” he chuckled.

“Uh… I think so,” she blushed as she looked at him.

They sat there for a moment, speechless.

“Sorry,” she finally pulled herself up and situated her seat next to Austin’s.

“It’s okay,” Sav watched her for a moment before looking up to catch Rick’s eyes. He winked at him and laughed.
