The city of Iopos is ruled by the powerful Denaraistas clan. They are a family of powerful adepts, most of them practicing the magician displines. The city is a splendor to look at. It's buildings are made of gleaming white marble, the streets are cobblestone, which look like they were just built the day before. At present, there is a canal being built from the city towards the south-west. The goal is to connect this cannal to the Serpent River which will increase the trade flow of the city as well as having Iopos making a stab at controlling the most important river in Barsaive. Not only that, but it will strengthen the ties that the Denaraistas clan holds with the t'skrang aropagoi, House Ishkarat.
Any visitors to the city must be wary. The Denaraistas clan are a paranoid lot. Anyone that is suspicous, even in the slightest way will surely be arrested, or at the very least be spied upon.
Look for more information on the city of Iopos in the future.
Note: This is roughly the way I pictured the city of Iopos looking. Of course, the mountains would not be present and there would be a cannal located somewhere along the city.
