.243 Winchester

This very proud little girl was just eight years old when she took this, her first deer. After practicing all summer, she took this doe with one shot at just over 100yds. The rifle is a Remington 700 youth with a cut down wooden stock. The load is our Low Recoil Big Game in .243. Notice the exit wound. With just 6 foot pounds of recoil this load is an excellent choice for well supervised beginners to our sport.

Comments

Many hunters are using center fire .22's hunting deer. This load is an excellent alternative for those looking for a minimum recoil deer load.  Our .243LRBG develops under 6 ft lbs of recoil in an 8 lb rifle and felt recoil is very similar to the .22 center fires, with better penetration and similar wound channels.

7MM-08

Proof that you don't need big guns to kill big Deer! This record class buck was killed with one shot from a 7MM-08, Remington 700 Mountain Rifle at over 200yds. We think this is one of the finest Whitetail cartridges ever invented. Our LRBG load adds even more versatility to this incredible cartridge

.308 Winchester

While the .308 is one of the most popular deer cartridges of all time, it develops more recoil than many women can handle in a lightweight bolt action. Our .308 LRBG develops felt recoil very similar to normal .243 loads, with greatly increased stopping power.

Comments

The 7MM-08 and .308 loads are very similar and comments apply to both. These are loaded in new match prepared cases. They are both loaded with Sierra Pro Hunter bullets intended to perform properly on game at these velocities, and are very accurate. They both develop recoil similar to normal .243 loads, with much better performance on game than any .243 load. Most women tolerate and shoot them very well. Both loads help to make women enjoy our sport more. The current crop of firearms intended for the youth and women's market have more recoil than most women can stand in these calibers. The alternatives of smaller calibers are certainly available, however, their effectiveness on game is much less than our LRBG loads. The availability of these loads should be taken into account when considering the purchase of a "first" deer gun for your youth. The .243 is no longer the only option. These loads perform much better on game, and as the youngster grows, they can have a more powerful rifle without the cost of a new firearm.
