:: The Rules

Contained within this sacred scrollable document is a list of rules to be followed while in this galaxy. These rules have been handed down from The Star Wars God himself and shall be followed by all. This list is by no means all inclusive but it shall give you a basic idea of things.
Character Rules
God Moding - This is a rule that most, if not all, RPGers know well by now. God moding is when you play your character as if they are some sort of unstoppable, undamagable, all powerful ruler of the universe. This is a fairly easy thing to recognize and shall be dealt with expediently and readily in all cases.
Character Advancement - This will be, for the most part, left up to the group leaders. However, if we believe that a RPGer does not have the skill to play the level which they have been assigned the staff reserves the right to demote anyone we see fit.
Character Separation - You will separate your characters at all times. This means you may not do anything because another character you have knows about it. You may not use a character you have to get even for an OOC argument, and you may not help one character with another for OOC reasons. Follow this rule or I will become upset, quickly.
Group Rules
Starting a Group - Every group must be approved by the staff. Most groups will require at least three active members. Unlike other galaxies, you may play all of your own characters, because of the other custom rules here at SWGL.
Group Assets - The assets you receive at the start of your group will largely depend on what type of group it is. This galaxy is to be based on realism, so we, the staff, will be keeping a close eye on what type of group owns what and how many of them... and so on.
To increase your assets you will need to RP. This is a main difference between this board and others. Your group will not grow with RP. You cannot just post a build thread every few days and amass a large fleet without doing the RP to earn them. Assets will be granted by the staff on the basis of both RP frequency, length, and quality. We will attempt to be as fair as possible in this respect. However, in the event that you feel you are being treated unfairly, please feel free to contact us.
These rules were made with the reasoning of both creating a realistic RPG environment and creating an environment that rewards both effort and talent.
Special Rule - Imperial Groups - Imperial groups in this galaxy will be based upon Warlord factions. There is no united Empire here, at this time. In the future, that may change if the Warlords come together or something of that nature. However, at this time only Warlord factions will be recognized.
Special Rule - The New Republic - The New Republic is the ruling faction in this galaxy. As such it would be unfair to place it in the hands of any one person. So this rule was created. The Star Wars God will be the Chief of State of the New Republic. He will rule over it in all forms. However, smaller portions of the republic are available to be taken as separate groups, part of the whole. Also positions in the New Republic are also available. For this to be fair, we will hold elections every so often for the political positions and the military posts will be assigned by the leaders.
Research and Development Rules
The One Rule - The rules for Research and Development are simple. The staff will approve or disapprove them. Once they have approved your Research and Development project it is available for use.
Conduct Rules
Staff - Do not abuse the staff. This is an obvious no no. We have the power to ban you, and we will. Do not abuse us in any way. On the same note, we will not abuse you.
General Conduct - Treat your fellow RPers with at the very least a semblance of respect. This is not going to be some kind of rampant flaming board. I will not have it. If you wish to flame, do it elsewhere.
The rules listed above are not all inclusive and WILL change from time to time. Please stop back now and again to refresh yourself with them.
