History and Description of the Spotted Saddle Horse
The Spotted Saddle Horse breed originated in Middle Tennesee. Spotted Ponies, known for their beauty and disposition, were crossed with other established gaited breeds (mainly Tennessee Walknig Horses) formed the beautiful, unique breed we call the Spotted Saddle Horse. This breed, known for their beautiful markings, and smooth gait is one of the fastest growing breeds in the world.
This breed's original purpose was to be an all around family horse. With the Spotted Pony's disposition and the Tennessee Walking Horse's smooth gait, this horse can be used for show or trail!
A Spotted Saddle Horse posses a white marking, other than facial markings such as stars, blazes, snips, etc, and has a naturally smooth gait. The two main color patterns are overo and tobiano. Their height usually falls between 14 and 16 hands and they usually weigh between 900 and 1,000 pounds.
