MEET AYLA Pretty young Ayla June Palmer came into this world on June 15, 1987, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She is the youngest of the children born to Terry and Doris Palmer. Older brothers Ashley, Terry Junior, and sister Elizabeth still live at home. When she was just a baby she began humming to songs she heard on the radio and as soon as she could speak she began to sing. When Ayla was just nine years old she entered a radio talent show and won every category. Soon thereafter she began singing at gospel festivals and has been booked ever since. She has been a regular at all major festivals in Manitoba such as Thousand Oaks Gospel Festival and The Manitoba Gospel Jamboree. Ayla continues to enter competitions, and has won or placed in those she has entered. Two of her biggest wins have been at Dauphin's Countryfest in Manitoba and the Rockin' The Hills Borderline Country Jam, North Dakota Country Showdown '99. In the latter, she competed with older established groups and, although she was the youngest and only solo act, still managed to win second prize. In the last three years she has continued to sing at her own Ayla concerts, as well as Rodeos, and other community events. She has her own CD which is being played on many radio stations in Manitoba and North Dakota and plans on making another CD in the near future. She has been acclaimed by country singer / writer Lisa Brokop and most recently by country star Terri Clark. With this recognition Mom and Dad decided it was time to make the next step in her young career and travel to Music City, USA, Nashville, Tennessee.
While in Nashville Ayla performed at many functions as well as meeting quite a few famous and interesting people -- the most memorable being the warm up party for the Tennessee Titans at the Adelphia Coliseum. It was her that she met Travis Tritt who gave her some advice and encouragement. Since her return home to Canada she has continued with her career building and has won several more talent contests -- the most recent being the Orange Crush Talent Search For Kids in Brandon MB. at Trails West Hotel.
Ayla has not been affected by her success and still does all the things girls her age do. She especially likes to playwith her dog Biscuit and go swimming and bike riding. She thanks God for her family and friends and for the talent she has been given.
