USS EINSTEIN
Engineering : Auxilary Warp Core

Tony had been working on the Leviathan’s auxiliary warp core for the last four hours non-stop. After receiving the reports on the status on the Ensign ASHER, he felt oddly sad. He had never met the hologram, but knew that he was a important part of the ship and it’s crew. He’d started working on the auxiliary warp engine managing to get the auxiliary core’s efficiency upto almost 95% operational.

Tony’s real goal was to get a chance to work on the quantum slipstream drive, which had always a dream of his and one of the reasons he had requested a posting on the Leviathan. Now he was to get a chance to prove how resourceful he was. He estimated that he would have another four more hours of work to do on the warp engines, then he could get some well-earned rest.

As he was thinking about the future. The Chief of Engineer came to him.

"Well, Ensign what do you think of the Leviathan ?." Lt. Commander Taline enquired. "It’s good of you to volunteer to help with the repairs."

"I like the way the ship has been change in many ways." Omega continues. "And I'm really looking forward to working on the QSD."

"Are you suppose to be on the Bridge right now ?" Taline enquired.

"I thought I would be more useful in the engine room than on the Bridge." Tony replied. "With the ship in drydock, there’s little reason to be on the Bridge, Lieutenant Commander Barker has offered to take my shift so he can work on a way of finding the mirror vessel once more."

"That’s great." Taline replied. "I really could use another pair of hands down here, most of the base engineers don’t understand the special nature of the ship. I was about to take a look at the Quantum Slipstream drive, would you care to join me once you’ve finished here."

"Yes Sir." Tony replied over enthusiastically.

"Ok Ensign. Keep up the good work and if there is anything I can do to help, just let me know." Taline replied. "I’ll see you later."

Taline turn away and started to head towards the quantum chamber, where the slipstream drive was housed. Tony returned to the warp core and worked even faster to finish the job.
