G, 10th Arkansas Cavalry, in Saline county, Arkansas, December 9, 1863; present, February 29, 1864; captured in Jefferson county, Arkansas, February 29, 1864; confined at U.S. Military Prison, Alton, Illinois, where he died of pneumonia on December 20, 1864; born in Tennessee, c1838; married Frances Elizabeth Hutchison in Hot Spring county, Arkansas, December 2, 1857; listed in Hot Spring county 1860 census; occupation farmer. Warford, Francis Barclay Corporal—Enlisted in Co. E, 19th (Dockery’s) Arkansas Infantry, at Hot Springs, Arkansas, March 1,d1862; detailed as teamster; captured at Vicksburg, Mississippi, July 4, 1863, and paroled on July 7, 1863; enlisted in Co. Clinton B. Warford, or James Warford.  My information conflicts.  If this is James he served in the CSA, Company F, Third Arkansas Cavalry.  Fought at Holly Springs, Corinth, Thompson's Station and early battles around Franklin, Tennessee, Chickamauga, middle Tenn campaigns, Knoxville, Massey Creek, Dalton, GA, Varnell's Station, Resoca, Cassville, Kennesaw Mountain, Atlanta, defeat of Sheman's Cavalry, Georgia Campaign, Rivers Bridge and Bentonville.

Clinton Warford's name as listed on the mass grave marker at Alton, Illinois where he died.  Man in the picture is Walter Warford.  Walter is Glen "El" Warford's oldest son who at the time lived in Kansas City, Kansas.

Samuel Edgar Huchingson

You will note that my dad listed Cynthia as "Rigsby".  Actually there was a Cynthia Rigsby, but this was Cynthia Warford, daughter of Francis Barclay Warford.  Sam always loved dogs and had many at a time.  I guess by the photo you can understand why.
