The Properties of Aluminium are as Follow:

- it is a light metal

- has a density of 2.7g/cm3

- has silvery surface that has high reflectivity of visible light, heat and electromagnetic radiation

- has a low melting point of 658oC

- has a specific heat of 890 J/kg.K

- has a high heat of fusion of 387 kJ/kg

- has a relatively high coefficient of linear expansion in comparision with other metals (twice of that of steel)

- is a good conductor of heat and electricity

* thermal conductivity of Al99,99 at 20oC is 235W/m.K

* electric conductivity is 37,67 m/w.mm2

- is very corrosion resistant in neutral and moderately acid environments

- its alloys have ultimate strength values (Rm) between 70 and 700 Mpa

* at low temperatures, the strength increases slightly and does not become brittle

* at elevated temperatures, the tensile strength decreases and at temperatures continuously above 150oC, the effect on tensile strength is so great that it must be given special consideration in design work
