About the
Artist
Lucy Rigg
Lucy Rigg began making dough figures
by hand in 1969 and went on to create paper goods both under her own company
as well as several others. After signing with Enesco in the late 70's
they produced people and bunnies from her designs, but she is most known
for her smiling teddy bears. Enesco has produced figurines, musicals,
mugs, tins, pins, and lots of miscellaneous collectible items, designed
by Lucy, for 21 years. She has had, and continues to have, many other
licensees that produce items including teapots, balloons, bookmarks, scrap
booking supplies, photo albums, magnets, dolls, craft kits, bookends,
baby items, throws, picture frames, and many other items. She currently
lives in Seattle near her family.
