This book contains 5 odd creaures:
Horklump
Gnomes
Impish Pixies
Fire Crabs
Gytrashes/Dire Dog Spirits
On this magical planet of ours, many mysterious creatures have created habitats. One of them being us. But this book is not about us it is about odd creatures. All spells with have "quotations" and will be blue and under lined like this: "spells" At the end of this book there will be a page that will say what study each of these animals are.
Horklumps:
The Horklump is not actually a plant but more an animal. They like to block your path or any entrance frequently used to pester you. They often live in well cared for gardens or sometimes gardens no one cares for. The Horklump looks like a round, brown sponge.
When you come close to it the Horklump will spike you with its 12, sharp teeth that poke out of each hole. The way a Horklump eats is when some unsuspecting creature comes walking by (small animals), it will poke out its teeth and grab the animal then pull it inside one of the holes. They have no eyes but can sense and hear all things. They cannot talk that we know of so far. The Horklump was discovered in the late 1650's when Kerield Edwards came accross it while on a trip through the forest of New Hesters. The usual technique for uprooting Horklumps is to blast them with only ONE shot of the spell "Flipendo" (a short and painless confusion jinx or knockout). Once confused, pick them up gently by their sides, twist and pull out it from the ground. Then be sure to plant it imediately somwhere else as this animal will wake soon.
Gnomes:
Gnomes are wizard weeds, otherwise known as garden pests. Gnomes are about a foot high, never getting taller. You must pull a gnome out of the ground and then swing it around in circles and throw it in the street. It will probably come back like weeds. When they're young, you can cast the Knock-Back Jinx on them. The words are "Flipendo". It will knock back the gnome and the gnome will, after 3 to 4 minutes, get up again. Gnomes can take a good beating but eventully die after too many throws. Young gnomes are gold. Every once and a while you will find a fully grown gnome which is unusual. Fully grown ones are blue. Once you pull a gnome from the ground and leave it there, it will get up and will bite everything, including humans. Too many bites will make you faint. Once they're done biting and ruining your plants, they will probably plant themselves again. Once you cast flipendo on a gnome the gnome will automatically become confused and you must pick it up by it's hind legs and throw it far, perferably not in your neighbors backyard...Gnomes are very annoying if you do get rid of them. You can make you lawn gnome proof. Your lawn will end up indeed smelling awful.
Impish Pixies:
Impish Pixies are gangs of some sinister, pestering little creatures. Like the Gnomes, they are very unworthy of anything. The Impish Pixies look too much like the Gnomes which is too close for witches and wizards alike. They look much skinnier than the Gnomes and have white thin bodies. They have two large fangs on each side of their mouth that can cause big damage to humans. They are MUCH more wiser. Impish pixies eat small rodents and other pixies when desperste. They, on occasion, like to eat red weed plants. Impish Pixies like to play tricks on the unwary traveller, so while walking through dark cold and empty places, be aware and prepared for anything. They tend to push and trip you in an upleasent way. They also steal shiny things. To gid rid of a group of snickering Impish Pixies you must take out your wand immediately and cast three "flipendo" spells non-stop, as they are hard to knock out. Then you must pick up the slimy creatures up by their ankles and throw them into water. The Impish Pixies that are left should run away because they do not have an ounce of swimming technique in them.
Fire Crabs:
Fire Crabs are furious animals, and because they are so hard to tame, not many have been succesfully tamed from the wild. These animals are hard to beat, so to begin, you must try to dodge their shots. Then circle them to get them dizzy, and shoot them with exactly 8 continuous blasts of ONLY "flipendo". Anything otherwise will cause massive explosions. Fire Crabs look like turtles, but instead of 4 feet, they have 6 claws, 3 on each side. They have gigantic sharp teeth, but no one has lived to tell the amount. Their shells are purple with a white border and 9 white spikes. Fire Crabs eat gindered douses which is a large plant full of ginger juce. These Fire Crabs are able to spit massive bundles of fire out of their tiny mouths. They like to live in dark, quiet places. Also, they approach the unsuspecting traveller.
Gytrashes/Dire Dog Spirits:
Gytrashes/Dire Dog Spirits are one in the same, having two different names beacuse two different people discovered them. The Dire Dog Spirits look like an extremely pale wolf with a long flowing mane. They are transparent but can hurt you badly. When you see them, you might think that ghosts cannot harm you, but you are wrong! They can hurt you, but not if you stop them in time. To eliminate these mysterious creatures, take out your trusty wand and do the spell: "lumous," which will eliminate them one by one. These beasts do not eat, for they are dead. They live in swampy areas filled with fog.
