When Julia re-wed Mason, did you feel as though you were in the 1940's? SB Costume Designer Diane Eden certainly hoped so. She designed Julia's off-white chifoon gown to have that 1940s appeal. The gown had a sweetheart neckline, was trimmed with pearls and rhinestones and cost over $3,000.

When B.J: dressed like Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream, her costume was a green leotard with chifoon leaves, gold thread and a skull cap with green and topaz stones. the outfit, which was designed by SB's costume designer, Diana Eden, cost approximately $ 900.

The wooden swans in Julia's beach house were purchased from a wholesale house in the L.A. Mart for $ 500.

When SB's costume department learned Mason was going to give Julia a charm bracelet, they wanted to find the perfect one. Costume Designer Diana Eden purchased Monet lockets from Robinson's in L.A. and attached them to a simple link bracelet. The end result cost about $ 100.

Eileen Davidson ( Kelly # 4, Santa Barbara) and Nicholas Walker (Frank Goodman , Santa Barbara) had a hot and heavy romance while she was Ashley on Young and Restless and he was Trey on Capitol. They were even on the cover of Soap Opera Digest together.

It isn't every day that a girl gets to rush a sorority. For her party, Lilly Blake ( Paula Irvine) donned a pale pink dress covered with lace and beading. A tulle stole completed the outfit. The dress was designed by SB Costume Designer Diana Eden and cost $ 1,000.

Their nominations for 1992's Outstanding Younger Actress Emmy wasn't the first time Tricia Cast ( ex-Nina, Young and Restless) and Melissa Reeves (Jennifer Horton, Days of our lives) have crossed paths. The two began their soap careers on SANTA BARBARA - Reeves in 1984 as Jade Perkins, she was called then Melissa Brennan, and Cast in 1985 as Christie Duvall. By the way, Cast took home the Emmy.

Some of your favourite daytimers got started on a prime-time soap - Knots Landing. Santa Barbara star Louise Sorel ( Augusta Lockridge) once did a stint as Chip's publicist boss, Bess, and Jack Warner ( Warren,SB) was once listed on the KL credits as ' Aide'. The actor played a nameless assistant to Greg Sumner (William Devane).

Were you wowed by Suzanne's (Terri Garber) dazzling tresses when she first appeared on the SB scene? The writers wanted their new leading lady to have long locks, so short-haired Terri garber donned a wig. It was purchased from Wilshire Wigs in North Hollywood for $ 100.

Did you love Gina's Geisha garb? Her gold satin outfit was rented for approximately $250. Tucked into her wig was an antique hair pin that the SB costume department designed for $50.

In the late 80's, NBC ran a contest in which soap fans had to spot Betty White's cameo appearance on each of its daytime soap operas ( Days of our lives, Another World and Santa Barbara). White, at the time, was starring in one of the network's most popular sitcoms, The Golden Girls. Her Santa Barbara cameo took place in the Orient express where she worked as a clumsy waitress.

Thaao Penghlis decided to leave Days of our lives in 1985 after seeing the unceremonious way in which Jed Allan was written off Days without so much as a proper send off for the character. Allan's character went to send a letter and he never returned. Penghlis wanted a very dramatic end to his storyline, having his character die in his beloved wife's arms. Instead, he disappeared into the fog one night. Jed and Thaao met again years later on Santa Barbara in 1992. They were CC Capwell and Micah DeAngelis.

One of Lane Davies's storylines involved to father a baby. His character, Mason Capwell, was recruited by fellow lawyer Julia Wainwright to father a child for her. After playing out both of those stories, Davies was approached about donating a non-monetary contribution to an organization of single women who wished to become mothers.

Louise Sorel (Augusta Lockridge) was born with the last name Cohen.

CC Capwell was recast four times. The first original CC Capwell ( Lloyd Bochner) had a last minute heart attack and he couldn't work in a daily basis in a soap opera. All his scenes had to be taped again with his first recast: Peter Mark Richman. So Peter Mark Richman was the first CC Capwell to be seen on screen.

Brian Autenrieth, who played shortly Brandon Capwell, idolized Peter Reckell (Bo Brady, Days of our lives). So great was Autenrieth's devotion that his mother had to buy him a trademark Bo Brady outfit - khaki pants, motorcycle gloves, and a red bandanna.

Jed Allan's ( CC Capwell) son Mitch Brown played Dylan Ross on the CBS soap Capitol in the mid-1980s.

Julia Roberts, who'd been turned down for roles on All my Children and Santa Barbara, was given a People's Choice Award as Best Actress in a Comedy for her work in the film My Best Friend's Wedding. During her acceptance speech, she mentioned that she was excited because the entire cast of Days of our lives was sitting in the audience.
