CARL & SUZANNE BOYD

My parents were married in 1964 and moved to Klamath, Ca. They were both school teachers at the time. Shortly after they arrived in California, they lost everything they owned, except for their wedding pictures, in the big flood of December 1964. This disaster wiped out the town of Klamath.

I was born in September 1965 and my father was called into the ministry. He pastored several Southern Baptist churches in Northern California and ended up back in Klamath, pastoring the First Baptist Church there.

In 1979, my family moved to White Plains, Ky, where my father pastored at Concord Missionary Baptist Church for several years.

While Patti and I were living in Eureka, Ca, dad was called as the Director of Missions to a Southern Baptist Association here in Eastern Ky, and held that position for many years. My mom was the director of a day care center at the church that she attended.

My parents have since retired and moved back to Western Kentucky where my dad continues to preach at a small church in southern Indiana.

My dad loves the old western movies and has amassed a large collection of videos. He also loves to drive and explore old roads and places.

My mom is crazy like me. She, like my dad, has always been involved in the ministry. I know she misses the kids and hopes to see them again soon.

My boys call my parents Mamaw and Papaw.

As I have grown older I have learned to love and appreciate my parents even more and am thankful for the sacrifices that they made for me and my brother and sister.
