SCOTTY DEAN

Scotty was a good man, always willing to lend a helping hand to others.

When Patti was staying with my family in Western Ky, she got a phone call from her mom saying that her father was very sick. We decided to go back to California together. It was February 1986, and we took a Greyhound bus to California, and that was an experience in itself.

When we reached Eureka, Scotty was in the hospital. He had had a long history of heart problems and diabetes. He was released for a short while but then had to go back. The doctor told Kay that he only had about a month to live and let him go home again. He died in his sleep that very night.

Patti's family came from all over California to the funeral. This was the second funeral I had ever attended.
