A little history
Blazer and Rikka
Penikka Belgians - what does it mean? Well, the name is a blend; "Pen" for my name, Penny, and "ikka" for the name of my foundation bitch, Rikka (it also means 'puppies' in Finnish). We live in Beautiful Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
We got involved with Belgian Shepherd dogs in 1991, with the purchase of our foundation bitch, Rikka (Ch. Bonheurs Zurich Gold). Rikka was a Belgian Tervuren, and had a long happy 15 years with us (1991-2006). She was an active girl right to the last few days, and gave us many happy moments
We breed only occasionally - Since 1991 we have only had 5 litters and are now planning our 6th with our Belgian Tervuren Vive Bergerac de Hu. These pups are due Dec 1, 2008.
We have kept one of our pups - a pretty girl named Trista. She was born in 1999, and keeps Vive and Arry in line! And they keep HER young! Trista is a groenendael (all black) variety. Vive and Arry came to us from Hungary, and have brains as well as beauty! Arry is a groenendael, and Vive is a tervuren. They are currently being trained in agility and shown. And one of their favorite sport is 'lets play ball'!
