The two elephants are taken on walks several days a week through the zoo during opening days. This is quite a popular event. Auckland Zoo have comitted themselves to the breeding program for elephants in the region. If Perth Zoo is successful in breeding an elephant and the calf is male, Auckland has stated that it will provide a future home for him.
