About me
Too old to be an x-er and a tail end boomer, I am delighted to be of an age that refuses to be classified. I have defied the odds and beat the labels.
From teen pregnancy, to battered wife, through welfare mom - I should be a statistic. Instead, I worked my way from poor to well-off middle of the road taxpayer. I raised two independent and strong-minded young adults who are prospering on their own.

I wrote the above about eight years ago, when I moved away from home to live in a small town, living on my own for the first time. It still rings true with the dynamism and enthusiasm of my life, well-lived.
I stayed in Innisfail for two years, and what a great time that was. I quickly took to town life; walking every morning with my new friend Marilyn, stopping at A & W for tea and a chat with my new friends.
Restlessness drove me on however, and I began dating for the first time. I courted my future husband and my employer for a new life and new challenges back in Edmonton.
And that I did. Art and I married quietly on January 25, 2003, my parents as witnesses and Naomi, my granddaughter as flower girl. Today I manage a diverse group of records staff for several government offices.

My Mission Statement - Upgraded March 23, 2008
I will neither diminish my talents or mask my imperfections before God. I will care for my health out of respect for myself and those I love. I will give generously all that I know to others, taking care that I have been invited.
I make it better.
I cheer on great connections between people, whether it be in my family, at work, with my friends, or in my community. I treat everyone personally and with dignity. I make sure you are heard. I give you unflagging support and encouragement.
