Chapter Fourteen...Break In

Jyson slipped the knife into his jacket and walked silently towards the car. The red exterior glistened blood underneath the full moon. He smiled; it was his kind of night. He put the keys in and began driving. All the while the knife felt cool and sharp against his skin. He smiled, wondering what it would feel like against Taylor's throat...

Meanwhile, Taylor moved closer to Kelsey's sleeping body. He let his hand rest on her hip and he watched her motions while she breathed. He felt his heart beating so loudly in his ears, surrounding him. Here he was, with a girl he had seen go through hell in little more then two weeks, miss her college graduation because she was in the hospital, who appeared to forget anything existed but what was directly around her.

Yet he loved her. He knew there was no way he could deny that. No way around it. His heart was on a one way street leading him to her. And he certainly wasn't planning on hitting the brakes. Eventually, Taylor let his eyes close and his arms automatically wrapped themselves around Kelsey.

Jyson pulled up outside the mansion. 'Got a hell of a place,' he thought, envy burning in his heart for more than the building. He got out of the car and worked his way inside the house. He smiled, thinking about the incredibly easy alarm system Taylor had. It was child's play to disarm it.

Jyson carefully made his way throughout the house, his eyes merely glancing at the numerous priceless items throughout the house. Kelsey was worth more than anything money could buy. Her face and her body slowly began to form in her mind...when he didn't have to form them anymore.

His face and heart began to burn. There she was...in his arms. Sleeping side by side, his head tucked almost perfectly above her shoulder. He felt his anger rise. 'Calm down,' he told himself. He hadn't planned on her being here. But then again, this could work.

He slowly and quietly put his suitcase on the bed. He found the needle with the medicine and injected it in her arm. She whimpered quietly, but the sedative soon made her unaware of any and all actions around her. Then he pulled out the gun. The silencer was on, so a getaway was guaranteed. He shot him.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For all my tears
and all the years
of longing
for your touch,
for all the pain
was too much
for me,
Yet I blindly
will fall once again
for I cannot begin
to explain this connection
amid all this deception
and the constant struggle
to survive
myself
I have dived deep within
places of my heart
I never knew could fly
so high
and I never knew
could feel
such pain.
Dropping her pen, Kelsey stared at Taylor's body. She blinked, realizing that's what it was: his body. The entire cold, steel, official room seemed to scream it. She stared at him, the tubes running in and out of his body, his chest rising slowly.
She couldn't stop the tears. "Taylor..." she whispered, remembering the night she told the cold air in the elevator she would love him always, "You can't leave." Kelsey waited for a moment. She wanted for some sign, some signal. She got none.
She felt the emotions rising in her heart. "Listen to me!" She screamed, going blind with her tears, "You can't leave me, Taylor! Can you hear me?!?! Listen, damnit, Taylor!" She pounded furiously on the metal hospital bed, her voice echoing back its words of worry to her ears.
"DAMN YOU! Jordan Taylor Hanson, you can't leave! Don't leave me!" the words rose in her throat, turning her pure voice hoarse. But she didn't care. Not her voice, not God, not Hell, was going to come between her and Taylor. "Listen to me! I NEED you! More than anybody! More than anything! Oh God, Taylor..." Kelsey fell to the floor on her knees, letting the sobs overcome her body. She didn't have the strength to stand anymore.
But she would fight for Taylor. If he couldn't do it for himself, she would do it for him. "God! Are you listening to me? You know as well as I do I never asked you for anything! And I never wanted to ever come to you, at least not like this! But please! I've found the one thing that brings me joy! Don't let him leave me!" She screamed at the sky. She could almost feel her chest bursting inside. "Just give me him! God...please..." she stooped over, her head resting against Taylor's chest.
Suddenly she felt somebody's hand on her shoulder. "He's only got a 48 hours, hon. Don't waste them," the doctor looked down at Kelsey with sad eyes. Kelsey's eyes glared back, "You don't know anything," she hissed at the doctor. "Taylor! Please! Don't believe her! You PROMISED me, Jordan Taylor Hanson! You PROMISED!" she pounded on the bed, causing it to shake. The doctor, looking worried, moved toward her, but suddenly Kelsey was on the floor again, tears streaking down her face.
She could taste the salt of her tears on her lips. She felt her lips tremble as she whispered to his body, "Don't you remember? I'd give my all, Taylor. I did. And I will. Just don't leave me...please..."
