Chapter 12: Head Over Feet

You treat me like a princess
I'm not used to liking that
You ask how my day was
You've already won me over in spite of me
Don't be alarmed if I fall head over feet
Don't be suprised if I love you for all that you are
I couldn't help it
It's all your fault
Your love is thick and it swallowed me whole
You're so much braver then I gave you credit for
That's not lip service
You've already won me over in spite of me
Don't be alarmed if I fall head over feet
Don't be suprised if I love you for all that you are
I couldn't help it
It's all your fault
You are the bearer of unconditional things
You held your breath and the door for me
Thanks for your patience
You're the best listener that I've met
You're my best friend
Best friend with benefits
What took me so long
I've never felt this healthy before
I've never wanted something rational
I am aware now

"What are you doing here?" Ike questioned, sounding ill and upset at the same time. "I came back because I changed my mind. Ike I'm in love with you and Allen just doesn't make me feel the same way. I want to be with you." I said, bringing myself almost to tears again. "What about him? I mean he can take better care of you. He can see you more often. And anyhow you still go out with him," he said.

"I'll end it tonight."I replied and sat down on Taylor's bed. Ike sat down beside me and took my hands in his. He looked at them and fiddeled with my fingers. Next thing he did was lift my hands up and kiss the tips of all my fingers. It stimulated me and my eyes rolled back in my head. Ike chuckled and when he calmed down, he pulled me to him and squeezed me enthusiastically. "I love you too Sid," he gasped and I felt his tears as they rolled down his face and landed on my shirt. I pulled back and kissed him on the lips. He smiled at me with a dreamy expression on his face. "Call Allen." he said. "Now?" my eyebrows rose and he held in a laugh. "Yeah now."he replied. "Why now?"I continued. "Because I have something to ask you."

"Sky, do you like parties?" Taylor questioned. "Yeah. They're cool."I replied, digging in my peanut butter and ham sandwhich. "Well, I was just wondering because my friend Kevin is having a party tomorrow and I wanted you to come. I made him promise it wouldn't be too bad though because otherwise my mom wouldn't let me go." he explained. "That's good. Well, I'd love to go with you." I replied and smiled at him.

"Do you know how to grind?" I asked him and took a bite out of my sandwhich. "No, but I've seen other people do it." he said. "Same here. Maybe we can learn."I tried not to blush, but he did it for me. "Okay. Wanna try now, before we go to the party and make fools of ourselves?"he asked. I laid my sandwhich down and stood up. My cd player was cut on and we got in the middle of the room. We positioned ourselves in the correct way and tried not to die laughing.

We practiced for a long time and I noticed while we were doing it that Taylor was um...well, he had a stiffie. I could feel it every time we touched and my eyes would roll back in my head and I would tingle all over. After we had practiced grinding nine or ten times, we decided to stop. I just happened to look over and found Sandy standing at the door with a big grin on her face. "Well!" she exclaimed.

"What are you all dressed up for?" I questioned and sat down on my bed. "Zac asked me on a date." she said and straightened her skirt out. "Where to?" Taylor questioned, sitting down beside me. "He just said to get dressed up a tad and be at your house around 5:00."she explained. "So that's what he wanted candles for this morning."Taylor said with a smile, after Sandy walked off. "Candles?"I tried not to giggle. "I can only imagine what that'd be like. Zac and Sandy sitting at a little table with two chairs and soft music playing."I let it all go when I said that and broke down laughing. Taylor chuckled along with me, slapping his knee and mine too. "Well, I'm gonna go home now. I'll be back to get you tomorrow. Be ready around 4:30."Taylor said, bent down and brought his lips to mine.

I picked up the phone and dialed Allen's number. "Hello is Allen there?"I asked when his mother answered the phone. "Yeah Allen, I want to tell you that it's over. We just didn't click and I'm ready to move on now." I explained, twirling the phone cord around my finger. "But...but...Sid I love you and...oh nevermind. It's obvious you've decided. Good riddance." Allen said and before I could say anything in reply I heard a click indicating that he'd hung up. "Well I can't say he reacted as well as I thought he would."

I turned to Ike and said. "Now what did you want to ask me?" I walked over to him and he wrapped his arms around me. He squeezed me tightly and breathed deep. "Sidney, I...Will you go out with me?" he questioned and my jaw dropped. But before I could say anything he started rambling about how it was the craziest thing he'd ever said and to forget it. That he couldn't risk Taylor and Zac's fame on this. "But Ike it's your fame too," I explained.

"I don't want it anymore." His eyes were filled with tears and he clung on to me for dear life. I hugged him back and he clung to me even tighter. "I lost my cool. Damnit Sid, I lost my cool."Ike exclaimed, soaking my shoulder with his tears. I rubbed his back and uttered soothing words, trying my best to calm him down even if I thought it wasn't helping much.

I stepped back from him about a foot and a half and left my hands on his shoulders. "Isaac, promise me something."I said. "Alright."he sniffed. "Promise me that the very second that you can date, that you'll call me. Even its two o'clock in the morning."I added. "Alright."he smiled at me and we kissed. It was a wonderful feeling. Ike had the softest lips and they were now pressed against mine so closely that there was not a drop of light that could pass between them.

I walked over to Zac's house and knocked on the door. His mother answered the door. "Yes Sandy?" she questioned. "Zac told me to come over and..."I never got to finish. Her mom told me to sit down and that she'd go get him. That he told her not to let me go back there till he was done. I sat there patiently for about ten, maybe fifteen minutes until he came into the room in a nice outfit. He was dressed up, but he wasn't REALLY dressed up and his hair was pulled back. "You look good," he said and helped me up. "Thanks. You do too." I replied and followed him. We ended up in his backyard, where he took me to a small table.

I could barely make out the lines of candles in the middle of the table and plates and everything situated where they should be. I was awestricken and I guess Zac noticed. "I took some tips from Ike."he explained in a meek, kind of boyish tone. "You didn't have to do this Zac."I said, looking over everything as he lit the candles. "I wanted to, Sandy. I'm not sure why, but I want to make a good impression on you."he told me and pulled the chair out for me to sit down. I did so and he went back into the house. He didn't stay long because his mother came out with the food.
