Even though I felt absolutly miserable I was still trying to keep a smile on my face. The modeling was helping and even though Sandy was miserable too she kept me laughing. Which I also tried to do for her. Right now she was reading jokes out of The Bell, The Clapper, And The Cord. "What is the recipe for honeymoon salad?"she questioned. "I dunno."I replied. "Lettuce alone without dressing."she said and we started rolling. Sid came in. "What are you two doing? I thought just two minutes ago you were so miserable that even chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream didn't help."she questioned with her hands on her hips. "We're telling jokes to keep ourselves amused." I replied. "Yeah wanna hear one?"Sandy jumped in. "Sure."Sid said and plopped down on the couch. "Can you tell me when baseball was mentioned in the bible? Well, Abraham made a sacrifice. Rebecca went to the well with a pitcher and then the book of Genesis starts by telling what happened in the big-inning."Sandy said, making me and Sid roll over laughing. "No, no! This ones good too!" She exclaimed. "Why do you go to bed at night?"she continued. "Because its good for you?"I asked as a joke. "No silly. Because the bed won't come to you."We all started giggling and rolling about; slapping the floor as we did so. Then all of a sudden the phone rang. Sid got up and picked it up. "Sky, its for you!"she called. I got up and walked over. "Hello?"I asked. "Yeah Skyler baby its me."my agent said. "Oh hey."I replied. "We got an interview and shoot for ya in Quebec."he said. "Oh cool. When?"I replied. "Last week in January."he said, in a tone that suggested he was looking at something. "Thats a while from now. It's just barely December."I said. "Yeah I know babes, but Katie wants to interview you and then they're gonna get a few pictures for the February issue of Twist."he explained. "Well alright. You'll have to talk to my mom about it though. She might have plans for me that I don't know about."I replied. "Well, I'll call back then. When will she be home?" "Oh around 6:30."I estimated. "Alright. Call back then babes."he said and hung up.
"What was that all about?"Sid questioned after I sat down on the couch. "Max wants to talk to mama about me going to Quebec next month."I said. "Oh dude!"Sandy exclaimed. "Isn't that when the guys are coming back though?"I asked in a sad tone. "I dunno. I'll ask next time I can talk to Ike."Sid replied. "I think so. Zac said near the end of January they might be here if they weren't too busy."Sandy added. "I just hope I'm here when they are."I sighed and got up to walk to my room. I sat down at my computer and tried not to think about all the what ifs appearing in my head.
I sat down on the couch to watch some tv and I ran across MTV. "I could have sworn that was Zac sitting there."I thought right after I passed the channel. I went back to it and sure enough the guys were on Rosie O'Donnell again. "Well since everytime anybody asks you if you have girlfriends you say no, we're gonna ask something else."pause."Are there any lucky girls that you want to date?"Rosie asked. That was the million dollar question. The guys looked at each other like they didn't know whether to answer or not. Tay spoke up. "I...There's a girl that lives near our home in Tulsa and I kinda like her."by the time he finished his face was as red as his shirt. I was all gitty, hoping that he'd say me. Then Ike spoke up. "I like her sister." All Zac could do was nod. That was when I knew. I don't have a sister, but Skyler does. Oh omnipotent Skyler Cornell. It just makes me so furious! "Oh well thats too bad that you can't date the girls. Maybe the fans'll let up on ya so you can."Rosie said enthusiastically. This was one time the guys weren't being optimistic for you could still the frowns on their faces. A tear rolled down Tay's face but he rubbed it off hoping no one would see.
I got up before I could even see the rest of the show, got dressed and stormed over to Skyler's. I heard laughing and went around back to see who it was. Sandy and Sidney were playing on their new trampoline. I turned around before they could see me and headed around to the front door. I knocked and waited for a reply. I heard footsteps and then the door opened. Skyler was standing there with her hair up in a pony tail and she was wearing a pair of overalls, with an emerald green shirt underneath. The shirt made her eyes seem even brighter then normal and I wanted to throw up. I always wanted green eyes because I hated to be like everyone else. I've always wanted jet black hair and jade green eyes so I'd look like a cat. No such luck. "Oh hi Jan. How can I help you today?"she said and I could tell she was trying not to laugh. "Shut up! I guess you saw the interview on tv?"I barked. She got a puzzled look on her face and I added. "Taylor just announced to the whole world that he wants to go out with you."I hoped she couldn't see the tears in my eyes. A smile grew on her once perplexed face and she threw her arms around me. Now I was the puzzled one. "Oh thank you! I never would have known otherwise!"she exclaimed and squeezed me. I pushed her off of me and barked, "Don't ever touch me again!"I stormed off her porch but then turned around to go back. This time I let my emotions get the best of me and I stood there in front of her. "Skyler, that's a good guy you got and you better treat him well."I turned around and walked off before she could say anything. She did anyway. "I will."she shouted and went back in the house.
I was on the computer in my room looking at some Hanson sites, when I came across a chat room. I went in there and started talking when a girl got on all excited and typed this in capital letters: You guys, I know who Tay likes! I know who Tay likes! One of the other girls, who apparently knew her, jumped in and questioned about who it was. "I may be wrong but its an awful coincidence. Okay here goes my explination...The guys just started liking this girl a few months ago and the one Tay likes has two sisters around Zac and Ike's ages. Who else do we know that's famous and fits those catergories?" she explained. All the girls in the chat room jumped on it and they either said they didn't know or that it was Skyler Cornell. In other words, ME!! I was astounded. "Sky's pretty, she's around Tay's age, she JUST moved to Tulsa, she has two sisters that around Zac and Ike's ages and I have something else..."she said and then she started sending everyone files. I got one and I opened it. It was a picture of me and Taylor standing on my front porch kissing! I tried to annonymously defend myself by saying, "You guys whoever that is will be upset that you're spreading it around and also Tay will because then people will think he's been lying to them." All I got in response was, "Who cares? People need to know!" I got out of there and off the internet so I could go call Taylor. I ran over to my phone and paged him. He called back about twenty minutes later. "I'm sorry it took my so long. It won't happen again."he explained in gasps. "Is everything alright?"he continued. "I guess you could say that."I replied. "What do you mean?"he sounded both perplexed and worried. "This girl has a picture of us kissing and she's spreading it around on the internet!"I exclaimed. "Oh gosh. I'd better go tell the guys."he said and called them over. I could hear him explaining it in the background. He came back. "Well we don't what to do. I mean what if the fans start thinking we lied to them?" he questioned in a worried tone. I felt so terrible for him at that moment. By getting into his life, I'd caused this wonderful thing of his so much trouble. "Taylor, maybe me and my sisters shouldn't be doing this with you."I regreted having said those words but it was the right thing to do. Even though I was about to cry, I squeaked out the words, and deep down my heart was being pulled out I didn't care. I wouldn't risk Taylor and his brother's fame for a little happiness. I mean the six of us may not work out, but the fame thing is definitly working for them. "I won't even discuss it until I can be there alright?"he replied in an assertive tone but not enough that he sounded angry. "Alright."pause"I love you Taylor."I wasn't sure why I chose to say it but it came out so now I had to deal with it. I heard Taylor breathe real deep like he did the first time I told him I loved him. "I love you too Skyler."pause"I wish I could tell you in person. I miss you so much."he said in the highest voice I'd heard in a while. "Oh please don't get upset."I said. "I miss you too Taylor."I finally said.
Almost a month later, I found myself on the plane with Mark-my agent- on my way to Quebec. It turned out that the guys were coming this week but that they'll still be there when I get back, so it's not a total loss. In fact, when they're coming home I'll be too. I got off the plane and a limo pulled up. I got in and was driven to a studio where this Katie person was supposed to be.
