"Want to go to Waterfalls?" Stacey Marties asked her best friend Susie Alapa on her phone.
"Sure! What time?"
"Here. I'll ride over there in say five minutes. Is that okay?"
"Sure!"
"Okay, Miss 'Sure'. See you in about five minutes."
"Sure!"
"Susie!"
"All right! All right! Okay."
"Bye!"
"Ditto!" The two girls hung up, and ran to their rooms to change.
It was a beautiful April Friday afternoon at 6:35. Susie and Stacey had just come back from their soccer practice (they were on the same team). They decided to go to a empty lot not far from both their houses. And as you probably figured, they named that place Waterfalls.
"Ditto!" What is with 'ditto' today? Stacey thought. The two girls
peddled to get to Waterfalls. When they got there a guy was taking
out the for sale sign and put in a sold sign in it's place! With a
house there, no one but the people that were moving there could get to
waterfalls. Stacey and Susie's favorite spot (translation: an empty
lot.)! Actually now their ONLY spot. People had built in all of
their other ones.
"Hello, girls!" the man called out when he noticed the two girls
standing beside their bikes staring in disbelief that someone would
buy their favorite spot. "Out for a little bike ride?"
"Ugh...Yeah." Stacey said.
"Um, sir? Do you know who bought this lot?" Susie asked.
"Well, I don't have much of a memory (*author's note:I was thinking
about the movie Forest Gump at the time. I just had to put that!).
But, all I remember was the people called me and said flat out, 'We're
buying that lot!' but other than that I'm sorry girls."
"Oh, that's okay. Thanks!" Susie said.
"Have a nice day!" the man called.
"Who do you think could have bought this lot?" Susie asked Stacey as
they set their bikes down.
"I don't know. But I wish I did." Stacey was disappointed.
That was the place she had run into Hanson. Where they met. But she told
herself, hey the lot was for sale anyone can buy it. But still, it
would be weird not having Waterfalls around.
