Chapter 1 - School

"What on earth?" Taylor stared at his mom, who was folding clothes as though nothing unusual was going on. "We're going to a public school?" Zac, who for once in his life had been quiet for the ten minutes their mother had spent explaining the situation to them finally lost it and screamed, "HAVE YOU GONE MAD?"

All Isaac was thinking was 'Oh My God' over and over again. Diana sighed. This decision had been tough enough but she honestly didn’t think it would have effected the boys this much. "I already told you; I can’t home-school eight of you and you are the oldest. Besides, most of the time we’re off in Los Angeles or New York and then you’ll have your own tutor. That is the end of it." She added the look that clearly said ‘Don’t you dare say another word.’

The boys nodded silently and crept out of the room. Isaac had begun to wonder exactly what would happen to him and his brothers. They had always hung out together but now there would be parties, dances (well, at least for him and Tay) and girls...'Well maybe that part won't be so bad' Isaac thought as he opened the door to their room.

Zac, not being one to avoid a chance of being the center of attention, ran to the telephone and began to dial all of his friends numbers, explaining about how he was now going to a public school. As Taylor listened to Zac jabber on and on he began to draw in his spiral. All of the boys were thinking about how this would effect the band and more importantly their friendship with each other. But all that would have to wait as they heard Mackenzie pounding frantically on their door, "Dinner, Tay-Bear! Dinner, Ikey-Poo! Dinner, Animal!"

The next morning Taylor awoke to Zac singing at the top of his lungs, "Shop for school, shop for school. Tay better get up and shop for school!" Taylor groaned and threw his pillow at Zac which succesfully hit him square in the head. Zac sat stunned for a moment, then lunged at his older brother and soon the two became entangled in a mess of kicks and punches. When Taylor felt sure he was winning he heard Zac utter a high-pitched scream.

It two approximately two seconds for their mom to come in and begin yelling at Taylor. At first Taylor tried unsuccessfully to explain the situation, but seeing it wouldn't work he simply beared it, the entire time glaring at a smirking Zac who was making obnoxious faces at Taylor from behind his mother's back. Taylor was tuning out (as he always did when he was being yelled at) when he heard his mother say, "No fighting today when we go for school supplies!" Needless to say, Taylor snapped to attention.
