This house refers to the higher mind and matters of faith. Attitudes to religion and philosophy. Does the person believe in a god/gods? Are their beliefs mainstream, alternative or unique? Are their beliefs influenced by others or events in life? How do they see their gods/goddesses? What sort of relationship do they feel they have with their supreme entity? This house covers miracles, holy spiritual occurrences and the belief in them. With the connections to philosophy and religion, this house also reflects the persons moral ideals and conscience. Religious buildings and all manner of clergy are found in this house.

The 8th house was concerned with crime, the 7th house reflected personal lawsuits. The 9th house covers crimes of the state.
