(above)1980 - Roger Geil and son with Rogers' two "Byron Originals" ducted fan jets. These two models flew very well indeed and had many flights under their belts.
.. |
.. |
(L)1980 - Alvin was advertized to fly this plane through the hole in plywood at airshow! Did he succeed?
No....As planned, this gave the crowd a good crash so they would feel that they got their monies worth.
(R)1972 - Don't tell anybody.....But here's Henry Col. Waltman with a "ARF" (rubber duck) airplane.
This was one of the first "ARF" plane kits manufactured.

.. |
(L)1986 - A view down pit row at the very nice "LARKS" flying site in Lake Charles, La..
(R)1980 - Alvin hangs on as Joe Waller fires up his beautiful "Antic" for another exciting flight at

(R)1976 - W.W.II Jap "Zero" model was Alvin's best attempt at Scale.
It had a "Webra .60" for power, Retracts, and Flaps.

"Fly Baby" and "Christian Eagle".
.. |
.. |
(L)1979 - Art Conner's "Flying Lawnmower" and "Big Lifter" plane ready to perform at a GCRC airshow.
The "Big Lifter" carried gliders to altitude and released them. (R)1982 - Dave Youngblood, father of Curtis Youngblood,
is hand cranking his own design, scratch built helicopter.
This machine was built in the early 70s and is a one of a kind antique.

1978 - Nats - Lake Charles, La.. During a lull in the R/C events and
haveing over loaded on watching C/L combat, we decided to check out the free-flight activities.
It was always fun to observe the reaction of our northern competitors to the usual heat and
humidity of a Lake Charles Nats.
