downshift is a fourpiece band from Sault Ste. Marie ON, our syle is a fusion of melody and speed. we formed in October '99, we were all in other bands that we decided to break up, and we thought we would try things a little different with this band. We made up a few originals, and won some "battle of the bands" and stuff like that so we decided to continue writing, then with the money we made playing or winning, we drove over to Sudbury to record.
We came out with the disc in August 2000. Three of us are in school right now, (2 post-secondary, drummer's still in OAC) but we have discussed moving down to Southern Ontario if we get a good response from record companies, or if we get signed, maybe take a year off school, and see what happens...
