Due South

The
Kanjeevaram sari is made of a heavy silk, so durable that it is usually hand washed in water. It gets its name from its traditional origin - Kanchipuram near Bangalore in South India. A hallmark of the Kanjeevaram is the bold and bright colour, favoured by South Indian women. A Kanjeevaram sari will always find a place in every South Indian bride's trousseau. The sari featured here is printless with a gold Zari border accentuated by an emerald green weave.

The jewellery is
Kundan from Jaipur, Rajasthan.
