Gods of Darkness
Raiff, the Destroyer
Symbol: Battleax
Colors: Black and Steel
Influence over: Destruction and hatred
Avatar: a warrior in black armor, often a minotaur, or an conniving, elderly human man in
black garments.
History: Raiff is the youngest son of Veana and Eldon and brother of Aeris. As god of Destruction, he is constantly at war with his sibling, due to his attempts to cause the
degredation of civilization and eventually the destruction of Lithrah itself. As one of the
three prominent gods, he is honored by all those of Evil alignment, and his temples are
found in nearly every large city in the realm. Though his followers are not as numerous
as those of his brother and cousin, Caesia, many are far more obsessed with the
worship of their god and are considered zealots even by their less dedicated fellows.
Alirez, the Necromancer
Symbol: Black orb
Colors: Black
Influence over: Dark magic
Avatar: a man of undetermined race, wearing all black hooded robes, leaving only two red
eyes visible in the shadows they cast.
History: Alirez, youngest triplet of Gitanel and Cael, is the god of Dark Magic. He is
worshipped nearly exclusively by those mages who belong to the Order of the Black
Robes and those aspiring to join their ranks. He takes little interest in the realm and his
followers, accept when entertaining himself with the weaker mages. Alirez holds little
respect for those who cannot survive his torturous games, and through these weeds out
those who he considers unworthy of wearing his robes, driving them either to insanity or
death. Nearly every Dark Magic user is tested at least once in his lifetime.
Ralis, the Black Paladin
Symbol:Sword
Colors; Blood red
Influence over:War, confrontation, violence
Avatar: Male knight of undetermined race in full armor, usually driving a chariot or on
horseback.
History: Ralis, youngest child of Raiff and Caesia, is the god of War. His supporters consist
mainly of assassins and mercenaries, although his influence ranges over every alignment
and any military class. He is almost always present at major battles and is often
accompanied by his elder sister, Biaakal, and less frequently by his half-brother, Ruan.
Ralis has been known to sway the tide of battle in favor of his more faithful followers just
when things are beginning to look bleakest.
Biaakal, the Dark Wind
Symbol: Vulture's claw
Colors: Blackest night
Influance over: Death and disease
Avatar: An old crone with stark white hair and a black cloak, or a young woman dressed in
a black mourning dress.
History: Biaakal, the daughter of Raiff and Caesia, is goddess of Death. She and her
brother Ralis often travel together, or at the very least, Biaakal is never far behind. She
spends a good deal of time in Lithrah, although rarely in any material form. She is the
goddess charged with seeing the dead to Depths.
Ruan, Blade of Devastation
Symbol: Bloodied dagger
Colors: Black and deep blue
Influence over:Chaos and vengence
Avatar: A young human male with tousled black hair, deep blue eyes and prodominately
black clothes that note him as upper class, but more often appears as a Dark Elf with
long black hair, pale white skin, and clear, piercing blue eyes.
History: Ruan, the only son of Aryna and Raiff, is god of Chaos. Ruan is one of the
youngest gods and is often considered the most mischievious. He is intrigued by the
inhabitants of Lithrah and is known to spend a good deal of time among them,
entertaining himself. He sometimes travels with Ralis, as he finds the confusion and
spectacle of war amusing.
Aryna, the Temptress
Symbol: Black rose
Colors: White, grey and black
Influence over: Temptation and deception
Avatar: A young woman in flowing white garments and platinum blonde hair with green
eyes and pale white skin.
History: Aryna is the youngest daughter of Jacira and Dalziel. As goddess of Temptation,
she has had relations with many of the other gods and has born children by both Aeris
and Raiff, resulting in the births of Aidan and Ruan, respectively. Like her youngest son,
she is intrigued by mortals and has been known to spend more time in the realm than
most of the other gods.
Dalziel, the Silent Thief
Symbol: Coins
Colors: Gold and Silver
Influence over: Greed and thievery
Avatar: An overweight, overdressed dwarven or human merchant, or a wiry, roughed up
middle-aged human, male or female.
History: Dalziel, the only son of Callis and Alirez, is the god of Greed. As such is
worshipped primarily by thieves, though some merchants also pay him homage. He very
rarely visits the realm, preferring to manipulate his minions through more abstract means.
