JCRCC Meeting Minutes - May 2000

The Jackson County Radio Control Club held it's regularly scheduled meeting May 9, 2000 at the Hardees in Gurley, President Homer Mitchell presiding. Members present included Homer Mitchell, Joe Cochran, Tommy Freeman, Burton Keel, Bob Gabrys, Bill Best, Richard Piccola, Tom Coffin, Leon Keller, Rusty Foster, and Dick Beam.

There were no minutes for April, previously approved minutes for March were used to guide the meeting. The treasurer's report was approved.

BUSINESS:

The possibility of contracting for portable toilet facilities and service was discussed. It was moved that the club contract with a Scottsboro supplier for such service for the months of June, July and August 2000 at a cost of $80 per month. The motion passed, Burton Keel was to contact the supplier.

Financing this service was also discussed and a motion made to pay for the service out of the club treasury with any financial shortfall to be made up by voluntary donations. Motion passed. (New member Bob Gabrys led the way with a donation of $40 which is very much appreciated.)

Pending acquisition of toilet facilities, Joe Cochran was authorized to pursue a club demonstration for a group of Cub Scouts.

The mowing of the cross wind runway was discussed and it was decided to continue mowing this area at least for now.

Homer Mitchell was to investigate the possibility of a change in the club meeting place. A report on an alternative meeting place is to be presented at the June meeting.

Richard Piccola suggested that the club field be promoted as the "R & J Flying Field". Rusty Foster indicated that the club web site would be so changed.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:45 PM.
Dick Beam, Sec-Treas.
