British 'hacker' accused of shutting down US military computers
A British hacker is charge of hacking into 92 networks operated by the US army and NASA. Investigators from USA say that at one
break-in he managed to shut down navy systems a few hours after the 11 th of September terror attacks.
McKinnon caused £566,000 worth of damage to computers in 14 states. In New Jersey, McKinnon was blamed of hacking into a network of 300 computers at the Earle Naval Weapons Station in Colts Neck, and stealing 950 passwords.
Finally McKinnon if found guilty, his penalty will be about 5 years in federal prison and £157,000 fine.
